There’s an all-new boy band on the scene, and you’ll want to learn their names right now. Based out of Orlando, home of iconic boy bands like Backstreet Boys, N’Sync and O-Town, the boys of No Lonely Hearts were brought together through an extensive nationwide audition process. The band is made up of Alex Valentino, from New Jersey, Brian Inerfeld and Oliver Fox, both from Florida, Aidan Pregan, from Pennsylvania, and Dylan Williams, from Texas. The boys have formed a brotherhood between living together and creating their music, and in turn, their styles flow together beautifully in their work. Read our exclusive interview with the NLH boys below!
The Knockturnal: To start us off, congratulations on everything! I’m so excited for everyone to hear ___. I’d love to hear a little about your story, how you were formed, and what the process has been like so far.
Brian Inerfeld: What’s up? Thank you so much for having us. Yeah, well, we are based out of Orlando. We are from all over the Florida to Texas, Pennsylvania. And it was actually a nationwide audition. They put us together and we’re living together and we’ve become brothers and we’re just making music and having a great time.
The Knockturnal: That sounds like so much fun! What’s it like living together?
Brian Inerfeld: It’s super fun. It took a minute to like, get us everyone’s personality, but I don’t know we have a lot of fun.
Aidan Pregan: We have a really good time. We all mesh very well, even though we’re all very different. But living together is always such a good time.
The Knockturnal: Tell me a little bit about special treatment. What’s it about, and where did the inspiration for it come from?
Brian Inerfeld: Okay, special treatment! Yeah, it’s our next single. Oh, it should be coming out, we’re thinking March but we’ll see. We’ll see. And yeah, it’s just a feel-good song. There’s obviously a lot to it, but we just had fun with it. We did the music video for it! The theme is kind of like house party-esque, so we just want to have a good time with it, and we hope that everyone else does too. That’s special treatment.
The Knockturnal: When people listen to special treatment, what do you hope they take away from it?
Brian Inerfeld: Definitely some, some 90s vibes! But also, we just hope they feel good. I hope they want to dance a little bit. And it’s one of our one of most fun songs.
The Knockturnal: I’m so excited to see the video!
Brian Inerfeld: I know we’re excited. We haven’t seen it yet.
Aidan Pregan: It’ll be super fun. We we saw a little clip of it, and it looks really good. So I’m super excited.
The Knockturnal: What was it like to film it?
Dylan Williams: So, filming was a lot of fun. We actually took our house, Heartland, where we all stay and live together, and we transformed it into a music video set. And it was a lot of fun. It was crazy, because we had like, 50 people in our house. But there was a lot of fun moments, and we can’t wait to see the results. It’ll be really awesome.
The Knockturnal: That sounds so exciting. Congratulations. Now what was it like to work with Johnny Wright? He’s had possibly bands like you guys on top. What’s what’s the whole experience been like?
Dylan Williams: I mean, it’s been amazing. We love him. He’s given us so many opportunities in the last couple of months that we’ve been with him. And, you know, we’re trying to get to the next level. He’s helping us with that.
The Knockturnal: I love it. Speaking of the next level, what do you guys looking forward to most within your music career?
Oliver Fox: What I’m looking forward to most in our music career would be having our own show, and being able to like perform live.
The Knockturnal: Now, what’s in the future for No Lonely Hearts? What can we all expect to see?
Alex Valentino: A lot of concerts, hopefully! We have to go to MetLife. One day I want to go to MetLife, The Garden too, I want to perform in the garden.
Brian Inerfeld: Definitely, like he said, more concerts a lot more music. And yeah, just getting to connect with more people. Release a lot more stuff. That’s going to be a lot of fun. And we’re super excited to see where this journey takes us.
The Knockturnal: Now, what sets you guys apart from other bands? What would you say makes you guys different?
Aidan Pregan: You know, like people say, like, work their friends with their bandmates, or like, they’re all close. And I say this a lot and I feel like I bring this up too much. But we’re all literally brothers. We live together, we love each other. We have formed a family. And that’s so important. Because we all have different backgrounds as well. So we pull things from our past and it just creates a beautiful art which is our music.
The Knockturnal: That is so beautiful. Now as you guys said, you’re all so close. Do you have some favorite memories of just living together and working together and creating this music?
Oliver Fox: One of my favorite times with the band was when we first all came together on one of our songs. That’s unreleased and called A Classic Love Story. And when we all heard the final product. We were in the studio. We were just like, jumping around and goofing off. That was probably one of my favorite memories.
Brian Inerfeld: It was like he said, one of the first times we were all truly in the studio after we had it finalized. We closed the door. We listened to it. And we were there and it just felt right. It was like ‘this is what this is all about.’ This is what it’s supposed to be like. And it was it was the first time we all collaborated on one song and there’s obviously so much more in the works now, and it’s just a lot of fun.
The Knockturnal: Can you elaborate a little more about what it’s like to hear that finished product for the first time?
Brian Inerfeld: Yeah, we all do our own songwriting individually as well as the group. But it’s kind of, it’s always so fun. I guess when you’re working on something to listen to at the very end and be like, you’re taking risks, obviously, as you’re writing and you’re like, I don’t know if it’s going to sound good, and sometimes it’s a hit. Sometimes it’s a miss, you never know. But when you’re in there, and you turn up the volume, and you can, like, jump around to it or feel it, it’s just a vibe. It’s just a vibe, and you kind of know, but it’s one of my favorite things.
The Knockturnal: That sounds so amazing. I’m so glad you guys have gotten to just have so much of that experience. Now, last but definitely not least in general, what is your favorite thing about making music? And what’s your favorite thing about your music?
Dylan Williams: The best part about us making music is, you know, we’re five different people and we all have different music that we love, and we have different sounds, different tones in our voice. And we just all come from different musical backgrounds. So I think when it all comes together, it really works well. And that’s what surprises a lot of people. And that’s kind of what I love the most about it. Just how we’re able to come together and make music that’s ours and has its own unique sound.
