Welcome to Tranquillum. Surrender yourselves to Masha.
Imagine checking into a 10-day retreat, a beautiful health-and-wellness resort. What could go wrong?
Hulu’s newest series “Nine Perfect Strangers,” based on New York Times bestselling book by Liane Moriarty, highlights nine stressed city dwellers’ journeys, as they attempt to get on a path to a better way of living.
Masha, the Tranquillum resort director played by Nicole Kidman, is on a mission to heal their tired minds and bodies, except she’s doing it her way and the nine “perfect” strangers are in for a trip of their life.
The Knockturnal exclusively talked to some of the “Nine Perfect Strangers,” cast members Melissa McCarthy, Regina Hall, Michael Shannon, Manny Jacinto, Asher Keddie, and Grace Van Patten.
In the drama series, the nine guests go on an adventure in hopes to fight off their own demons.
“Embrace [your demons]. Realize we all have them and seek help,” McCarthy told The Knockturnal. “Especially after this last year and a half…Nobody is perfect. That’s the biggest scam…is this perfect life and how we present ourselves. Everybody needs to be able to reach out to people and there’s no weakness in it.”
The first episode of “Nine Perfect Strangers” premieres on August 18, 2021, on Hulu.
