Exclusive: Cast Talks ‘Little Women’ at World Premiere [Video]

At the world premiere for Little Women in New York this past week, the cast spoke about the making of the film and more!

The world premiere for the new film Little Women was held at the Museum of Modern Art on Saturday, December 7th. Greta Gerwig directed the film, her follow-up to the 2017 smash hit Lady Bird. The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, and Eliza Scanlen as the four March sisters and shows their life and times.

When we say the world premiere of Little Women, we knew we had seen a hit. The movie stars Saoirse Ronan as Jo, the middle child and most adventurous sister. Her relationships with Meg (Watson), Amy (Pugh), and Beth (Scanlen) are put to the test time and time again. This includes in their interactions with local boys like rich neighbor Laurie (Timothee Chalamet) and local tutor John Brooke (James Norton). There is also their relationship with Marmee (Laura Dern) and their father, currently at war. Yet through it all, the sisters have one another to rely on. At the world premiere, the cast of Little Women spoke to us about the making of the film. Tom Rothman, the head of Sony, commented on the historic nature of the film for the studio. Then, supporting cast member Hadley Robinson talked about life on the set. Laura Dern spoke about how this version of Little Women differs from tradition, especially with such a special cast and creator. Next, Florence Pugh talked about working with Gerwig and reinventing the character of Amy. Finally, James Norton talked about the writing process and working with Gerwig and Emma Watson so closely.
