Today in NYC, Swiffer teamed up with actress and comedian Abby Elliott to release two short Art of #Adulting videos that offer some tips on how to nail common adulting moments – one adult step at a time!
Adulting is hard, but Abby Elliott and Swiffer make it easy! Whether you are moving into your first home, learning how to cook a dinner more sophisticated than leftover pizza, adopting your first pet, or coming to terms with the hectic world of a growing family, adulting is something we all must learn to do and the truth is, it’s not easy. Elliott demonstrated how Swiffer is the fast and easy way to tackle your adulting to-do list so you can get your home clean in the time you have – even if you just have a few minutes to spare.
The Knockturnal: What’s an adult-y thing you have trouble with? I have many so I wanna get yours.
Abby Elliot: I have many as well. One thing would be finding no regular time to clean I would say. Every week I tend to pick up my Swiffer not as regularly as I want to. I think because it’s such a great product it makes it easier to clean quickly. So, I need to do that more.
The Knockturnal: How did you get involved with Swiffer?
Abby Elliot: It was a product that I totally have been using since I became an adult. I had one in my first apartment and I still have one now. I just truly believe in it and they’re celebrating their 18th year as a brand, so they’re becoming an adult. And I just got a house with my husband and got married. The timing worked out that we both adult-ed at the same time.
The Knockturnal: We love every time we can see you on screen. What project can we see you in next?
Abby Elliot: So I just finished a project with my family actually. It’s a comedy film that we shot in our house in Connecticut. And my sister Bridey Elliot directed it and wrote it. It stars all of us and it’ll be out hopefully this year.
The Knockturnal: How did you start in the business?
Abby Elliot: I started out doing improv at UCB and I started doing voices and some commercial stuff. Then, I got called for an audition at Saturday Night Live and I went in and it happened pretty quickly. I was 21 and so that was kind of my first big break.
The Knockturnal: Who was your favorite host while you worked on the show?
Abby Elliot: My favorite host would- I really adore Drew Barrymore, I ended up doing an impression of her mostly because I loved her so much and wanted to be her but I think I would have to say her. I also really loved working with John Malkovich. We played teenage girls at a slumber party together. So I think we’re one of the only people that can say they had a slumber party.
The Knockturnal: What’s your favorite genre that you love to do acting-wise?
Abby Elliot: I really do love doing comedy. I would love to get into more serious stuff and try different stuff out. It was really fun doing this horror genre recently. But I’m excited to try out some drama.
