“Looking for revenge, all Summer ’16, rapper Drake reveals the release date for his highly anticipated album.”
The world has been looking for a fourth studio album from the “6 God” since his 2013 release of Nothing Was The Same. Last year, Drake fed the streets with a surprise mixtape titled If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, but after it’s run fans grew hungry for more. Although the mega star did collaborate with Future for an album called What A Time To Be Alive that was released in September of 2015, the new album was nowhere to be found until now.
On April 9, on OVO Sound Radio Drake announced his long awaited album Views From the 6 is dropping April 29. Prior to the announcement, Drake released two songs that may or not be on the album titled “Pop Style” and “One Dance.” “Pop Style” featuring Kanye West and Jay Z is a typical song we are used to hearing from the rapper, while “One Dance” featuring Wizkid and Kyla is a more upbeat number with an island vibe beat.
On the Beats 1 show hosted by Oliver El-Khatib, Drake remarked that the album “It’s not a short thing. There’s a lot of music on there. You’ll have your full share of Drake music for the summer and for the year — forever.” It is evident that the Toronto native has been working tremendously hard on the upcoming project.
According to Apple music, Views From the 6 will be exclusively via Apple Music, there are no further updates as to what other outlets will receive the album at this time. With just under three weeks away, the summer music forecast is looking like a scorcher so far.
