This past Wednesday 27th of June, ravers got together at Manhattan’s Flash Factory to celebrate Deadmau5’s collaboration with Absolut who together created the first of its kind, nightlife virtual reality game!
Being able to experience live music is already great, but now thanks to Deadmau5’s innovative genius and crave to push boundaries, music lovers will be able to have a whole new experience. The amazing music producer teamed up with the Absolut’s Night Campaign and created a headset that, with the help of your phone, transports you to a virtual world.
The “Absolut Deadmau5” game launched on the night of the performance and is now available for download in all major app stores. The headset is available for purchase online for $9.95. In the game, you follow the journey of Deadmau5 from his garage to the venue he will be performing at. There are a set of fun challenges to overcome while you get Deadmau5 safe and sound so players can then experience his performance. The game consists of head movements while you enjoy deadmau5’s tracks playing in the background.
During the event, some were able to try out and experience this new world together under the same roof. Flash Factory opened its doors at 9:00 PM with music already playing. It wasn’t until 10:00 PM that the crowd began to peak. As many enjoyed cocktails and drinks made with Absolut, No Mana (DJ under Deadmau5’s record label) began to play. This talented young DJ killed his set which, with the lights and the decoration in the venue, created a euphoric environment.
At around 12:00 AM, Deadmau5 performed his set which of course, left nothing to be desired. The pro knew exactly how to make his audience dance, scream and have the best time. There is a reason why he has been around the industry for so long and has such a renowned name! The crowd was really friendly, energetic helping the launch of this awesome new invention be the best of the best!
