Most New Yorkers might scoff at the idea of shopping in Times Square, but believe me when I say you don’t want to sleep on this location.
Unlike other Footlockers, this location features several stores within the larger venue including: Kids Footlocker and Six:02. The perks of shopping at this location also include access to exclusive Adidas and Nike shoes and merch that you can’t find in other Footlockers or most stores. They even offer the Beyonce’s Ivy Park collection and offer shoes for people of all ages under one roof. The store is more than 17,000 square feet so you can imagine how many varieties of shoes are waiting for you inside. The stores inside the larger store include House of Hoops, Adidas The Foundation, Timberland Legends Club, and others like Puma Lab, Converse Prime and New Balance’s NB Unite.
The Grand Opening on Thursday was hosted by the Knicks own Carmello Anthony with a shoelace untying ceremony to kick things off. There were performances by “Knicks City Dancers” and “7th Ave. Squad” while DJ Clark Kent held it down. The opening also featured an atrium shop where shoppers could customize their own totes, mugs and keychains with a signature Times Square logo.
The night before the grand opening, The Knockturnal was invited to an exclusive preview of the store and it did not disappoint. While kids had fun between 7 and 8 p.m., the real party began after. As soon as you entered you were checked in and welcomed with a $250 Footlocker gift card and servers offering you wine and food. Each little hub offered a specialized brand, while one focused more on Puma, another was solely Nike and the store was separated by footlocker and Six:02, with six:02 catering to women’s shoes and fashion. You should check out this location and explore all that it has to offer because it’s not your usual Footlocker.
