Ben Leventhal’s Blackbird has reteamed with the Standard Biergarten in New York City for a for a monthly winter residency from October to March, bringing cult favorites from across the river, country, and ocean to the Meatpacking District to show New Yorkers what they’ve been missing.
This past weekend Blackbird and the Standard Biergarten hosted a special menu offering bites from Danny Bowein’s Mission Chinese (October 26-27).
Diners who wished to try the special menu offerings had a choice of: Chongqing Chicken Wings with Mala Fries and Sichuan Peppercorn Ranch, Crispy Shrimp & Pork Dumplings with Salted Peanut Sauce, Chili Oil and Cucumbers, BBQ Pineapple Duck Bun with Charcoaled Chili & Sour Cream and an Addictive Cabbage Salad with a Secret Sesame Dressing.
Next month on November 9th and 10th, Blackbird and The Standard Biergarten will collaborate with Greenpoint’s Sonoran handmade flour tortilla restaurant Border Town which will offer Mushroom Al Pastor Gringa tacos with Pineapple-Habanero Salsa, Taco De Guisado made with Carne con Chile, Cilantro and Salsa Roja and Spicy Refried Pinto Bean Dip with Queso Chihuahua, Salsa Macha, and served with Totopos. Lastly between December 6th and December 8th, The Standard Biergarten and Blackbird will bring LA based
hole-in-the-wall kebob shop Mini Kebob to New York City for the first time, serving chicken and beef kebobs and lamb chops.
In order to take part in experiencing the Blackbird residency offerings, users need to download Blackbird and add a payment card on file in the Blackbird app, then simply check-in when you arrive and enjoy the winter bites and brews.
