At Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami, sweeping Biscayne Bay views, walkable city access, and standout Cuban cuisine at Caña Restaurant redefine the art of the staycation.

Sometimes, the best escapes don’t require a flight. During our recent stay at Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami, that feeling set in almost immediately. Even in the heart of the city, we found a sense of calm. Just beyond it all, Biscayne Bay stretched out in full view.

From the start, everything felt seamless. The valet team quickly handled our bags, while the front desk ensured a smooth check-in and shared helpful insights about the area.

Soon after, we stepped into our room on the 17th floor, a spacious 1 King Bay View with a balcony. The views instantly became the focal point. We looked out over Biscayne Bay, with Brickell and Downtown Miami framing the skyline, and it felt like a truly blissful moment.

Inside, the details felt intentional. A mini fridge and coffee machine added convenience, while the Drybar Buttercup hair dryer felt like a thoughtful touch, especially for those who appreciate a good blowout. The bathroom leaned into comfort, with a large walk-in shower, rainfall showerhead, and BeeKind bath products.

Among the many great amenities offered, the location stood out the most. Just steps from Brickell City Centre, we found ourselves within walking distance of countless cafes, restaurants, and shops, with free public transportation nearby making it easy to explore.

Beyond the stunning views and thoughtful amenities, the culinary experience was a true highlight of our stay. Located on the second floor, Caña Restaurant brings a vibrant and modern take on Cuban cuisine.

We began with a Passion Fruit Caipirinha and a glass of Seven Daughters Moscato, both fresh and well-balanced. Shortly after, the Pulpito Frito arrived, featuring crispy fried baby octopus brightened with lemon, red onion, and cilantro aioli.

For our mains, we leaned into bold, Cuban-inspired flavors. The Entrana a la Parilla featured grilled hanger steak with caramelized onions, chimichurri, rice, and black beans. Alongside it, the Piernita de Cerdo Asada offered rich, tender bites finished with mojo criollo, paired with rice and sweet fried plantains, and quickly became a favorite at the table.

To end the meal on a sweet note, we shared the Flan Cubano and Mousse de Chocolate. The flan was smooth and classic, while the mousse felt rich and indulgent.

After dinner, we took a walk along the bay. The skyline glowed, and the water reflected the city lights in a way that felt distinctly Miami. Back in the room, we slipped into plush Hyatt Centric robes, turned on a few shows, and slowly drifted into a restful sleep.

The next morning, we returned to Caña for brunch, starting with an iced hazelnut latte alongside the Tostada de Salmon Ahumado, layered with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, and fresh herbs. We were also offered the Tostada de Aguacate, which provided a lighter balance with avocado, heirloom tomato, cucumber, and smoked salmon.

For something sweet, the Tostada Francesa was a standout, featuring brioche French toast topped with seasonal berries, guava sauce, ricotta, and maple syrup. We closed out brunch with a second iced latte, this time with caramel. Caña also offers a Brunch Board designed for sharing. Priced at $75, it serves 2 to 4 people and features a selection of the chef’s favorites, including eggs Benedict, French toast, gluten-free pancakes, smoked salmon and avocado toast, bacon, and breakfast potatoes.

Later, we made our way to the 19th-floor rooftop deck, where Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline stretched out in full view.

Before heading home, we took in the view one last time from our room. Between the location, the bay views, and the dining, everything felt easy and well thought out. Room rates vary by season, making it just as suited for a last-minute stay as it is for something planned ahead.
