Skip the boring and dull bowling alley and unleash your inner child at the new Lucky Strike.

Bowling night just got a major upgrade at Chelsea Piers. The former Bowlero has rebranded and expanded, emerging as the vibrant new Lucky Strike Chelsea Piers. More than just a name change, this revamp elevates the classic bowling outing into an energetic, multi-faceted entertainment experience perfect for everyone.

Invited for a few frames to check out the revamped space, we stepped into a sprawling venue buzzing with energy. Numerous sleek bowling lanes stretched before us, complemented by an expansive arcade zone promising pre-game excitement or post-strike fun. The welcoming and efficient staff made check-in and grabbing our shoes seamless, setting a positive tone from the start.

Lucky Strike proves its overhaul is far more than cosmetic. Each lane boasts large screens playing hit music videos (from current chart-toppers like “Say So” to throwback Beyoncé), comfortable seating ample for groups of six or more, and bowling balls suited for both righties and lefties. Enhancing the experience further is a revamped food menu featuring tempting options like Mike’s Hot Honey pizza, alongside a craft cocktail list designed to elevate the fun.We sampled several highlights from the new menu. For groups of four or more, the Signature Sampler is a must—a generous platter of crowd-pleasing classics including juicy buffalo wings, perfectly fried chicken tenders, surprisingly cheesy mozzarella bites (shaped like tater tots!), Bavarian pretzel pins, and classic fries. The wings and tenders were definite favorites. Another standout was the street tacos, particularly the Birria. The tender barbacoa beef and mozzarella practically melted together, especially when dipped in the intensely flavorful consommé. Tapping into their new partnership, the Mike’s Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza delivered a satisfying blend of crispy crust, gooey cheese, salty pepperoni, and that signature sweet-heat drizzle.

No bowling night is complete without drinks, and Lucky Strike delivers. Beyond the fully stocked bar serving classics, the signature cocktail list shines. We particularly enjoyed the Hart Throb Margarita (Gran Coramino Cristalino, orange liqueur, strawberry puree, sweet & sour) – a spirit-forward yet balanced blend where strawberry and orange notes mingled without being overly sweet; a fruity, fun twist on the original. For larger groups (or the adventurous), the “dunk tank” shareable cocktails, reminiscent of college fishbowls, are a hit. We opted for the Watermelon Mega Rita (Jose Cuervo Tradicional, orange liqueur, watermelon puree, sweet & sour), a refreshing, perfectly sweet, and spirited concoction ideal for celebrating that strike (or spare!). Consider upgrading individual cocktails to a 22oz mug for just five dollars more.

If you still have room, the decadent M&M Shake or the warm Monster Cookie Melt provide a sweet finish. Afterwards, the revamped arcade beckons. It’s an impressive space mixing nostalgic classics—claw machines brimming with cute plush toys, mini basketball, 1st person shooters, or air hockey—with thrilling modern games, like an immersive Godzilla VR experience that puts you right in the action.Even after hours of fun, we weren’t ready to leave. Lucky Strike Chelsea Piers has successfully amplified the bowling experience, creating a high-energy, versatile destination. Whether you’re out with friends, on a date, or rolling solo, it’s a prime spot for a genuinely fun night out.
