New Music Roundup: Releases You May Have Missed

Our NMR series is back with some of our favorite recent electronic releases. In this edition, you’ll find new music from Eli Iwasa, Elohim, Notre Dame, Alexis Nikki and more.

BLEEPING SAUCE – “WHAT YOU GONNA DO” (ELI IWASA REMIX) [HEELS OF LOVE]

Nine years after its initial 2016 release, Brazilian duo Bleeping Sauce’s biggest hit “What You Gonna Do” returns with a fresh EP on the respected Heels of Love label. The package features a remastered version of the original alongside two new interpretations—a dancefloor-ready remix by Eli Iwasa (who was originally the band’s vocalist) and Mau Maioli that preserves the track’s 80s synth-pop DNA, plus a minimalist “Garage Mix” by Capetini that crafts a warm, deep atmosphere while highlighting key elements from the source material. Formed in 2014 by Iwasa and Marco A.S., Bleeping Sauce made their mark on Brazil’s electronic scene by blending post-punk and synth-pop with 2000s electroclash sensibilities. This collection marks only the second release from the Heels of Love imprint, making it a notable addition to the label’s emerging catalog.

ELOHIM – POWER OF PANIC (DELUXE EDITION) [POSITION MUSIC]

Electronic artist Elohim expands on one of her most pivotal releases with the Deluxe Edition of “Power of Panic,” adding new dimensions to an already emotionally charged collection. The standout addition is a stripped-down rework of AWOLNATION‘s “Sail,” transforming the anthemic original into a hauntingly intimate contemplation, while new tracks like the fragmentary interlude “Scratch My Brain” and the simmering “Patience” further explore the album’s themes of anxiety and resilience. The classically trained pianist turned electronic innovator—who has collaborated with Skrillex, Marshmello, and Louis the Child—created the original album as a sonic document of her battle against spiraling anxiety and dependence on benzodiazepines during relentless touring. With millions of streams under her belt and placements across major platforms like Spotify’s “Women of Electronic” and Apple Music’s “Future Hits,” Elohim continues to balance festival appearances like Coachella and Lollapalooza with her candid “Sunday Scaries” Twitch series, cementing her position as one of electronic music’s most transparent and thought-provoking voices.

ALEXIS NIKKI – CAN’T GET ENOUGH

Salt Lake City-based producer Alexis Nikki kicks off 2025 with “Can’t Get Enough,” a genre-fluid banger that further cements her evolution from dubstep architect (under her former Kleøpatra moniker) to house music trailblazer. Following the success of her debut EP “All Eyes On Me,” this latest offering showcases her masterful approach to production, merging pulsating tech house basslines with infectious vocal hooks for an irresistible dancefloor experience. The track builds on the momentum established through previous singles like “One More Time,” “Back To You,” and her collaboration with Zoobstool on “Rep My City,” all of which have earned her recognition from major tastemakers in the electronic scene. With more releases planned throughout the year, Alexis Nikki continues to demonstrate why she’s one of dance music’s most exciting emerging talents, crafting sonic journeys that feel both forward-thinking and instantly compelling as she shapes her future—one bassline at a time.

NOTRE DAME – DO FOR YOUR LOVE [PARANORMAL SOCIETY]

Parisian producer Notre Dame steps into label ownership with the launch of Paranormal Society, debuting the imprint with his own track “Do For Your Love“—a hypnotic exploration of unconditional love that’s already caught the ear of electronic heavyweights like Keinemusik and RÜFÜS DU SOL. The Paris-born artist, who experienced a breakthrough with his single “Yumi” on Solomun’s Diynamic label, describes the lead single as an attempt to capture “this idea of unconditional, almost obsessive love, where you’re ready to give everything, even if it means losing yourself.” The production oscillates between tension and release, creating a cinematic atmosphere that exemplifies Notre Dame’s signature style of bridging dancefloor energy with emotive, mystical soundscapes. With previous releases on prestigious imprints like Innervisions, Cercle Records, and Bedouin’s Human By Default, plus performances at iconic venues from Tokyo’s Womb to Miami’s Space, Notre Dame establishes Paranormal Society as a platform “designed to transport listeners into a parallel world where music and art intertwine.”

WHIPPED CREAM & ANDREA BOTEZ – ERASED [MONSTERCAT]

In a powerful collaboration timed for International Women’s Day, former competitive figure skater turned producer WHIPPED CREAM and chess player/DJ Andrea Botez have joined forces on “Erased,” a genre-blending techno anthem. The track opens with dramatic, echoing tones before WHIPPED CREAM’s captivating vocals enter, building to a thunderous techno bassline complemented by sharp snares and dynamic synth progressions. “This one is different — melodic, soulful, and powerful,” notes WHIPPED CREAM, describing how “dark techno collides with melodic house, blending deep, emotive vocals with an unrelenting groove.” For Botez, who began her music career in 2024 with “S.O.S” and recently delivered official remixes for Boris Brejcha and Kaskade, the collaboration began when she sent WHIPPED CREAM her first tech house demo. The track follows WHIPPED CREAM’s January EP “Careline” and precedes her upcoming performances at Beyond Wonderland, Festival Pa’l Norte, and Tomorrowland Belgium, further cementing both artists’ rising status in electronic music.

VARIOUS ARTISTS – PORTAL 001 [MAHOOL RECORDS]

Saudi Arabian electronic label MAHOOL kicks off 2025 with “Portal 001,” a high-voltage techno compilation showcasing seven of the MENA dance scene’s most promising talents. The dynamic collection opens with Sokkary‘s groovy, club-driven “Falling Deep,” where cascading synths and shimmering piano melodies merge with hypnotic vocals to create an immersive dancefloor experience. The journey continues through Corsini’s futuristic “Microgrid,” blending house and trance with robotic vocals, before moving to Auf & Fade Republic‘s intergalactic “Break A Way” with its dystopian dreamscape elements and soft vocals. Other standouts include Triart and Eleonora’s trance-infused big-room anthem “Don’t Go Away,” Deus Deserto‘s acid-groove “Like That” with its bold rap vocals, and Moses‘ slow-burning techno closer “Kerosene.” Operating under the MDLBEAST Records umbrella, MAHOOL has quickly established itself as a prominent curator in the deep electronic music space, with this compilation definitively positioning it as an exciting label to watch throughout the year.
