This past Sunday marked the commencement of New York City’s Anti-Social Camp organized by the Anti-Social Producer’s Club. More than 150 artists, producers, and songwriters have gathered to use their combined and creative forces to craft music.
The week of celebrating art collaboration and music takes place from June 12-17, perfectly aligning with June being New York Music Month. Opening night consisted of an industry showcase supported by Spotify at Brooklyn’s infamous music venue, Baby’s All Right. Within three days, 100 recording sessions are scheduled alongside a packed agenda of events intended to revitalize the music scene in NYC.
The showcase featured performances of 18 artists, who will be working alongside various songwriters and producers throughout the week. Fifteen songs will be selected for the 2023 Anti Social Camp album, which a complete marketing and PR campaign will support.
The night was brimming with electrifying live music and an immersive networking experience for artists, producers, songwriters, and all aspiring music industry professionals. Hosting the night was the multi-talented Will Wells, a songwriter, performer, and producer who also worked on the smash-hit Broadway musical Hamilton as the electronic music producer.
The lineup of performing artists was diverse and included acts such as Grace Vanderwaal, Walk The Moon, Ant Saunders, Lloyiso, New Rules, Dezi, Zoe Ko, Kota The Friend, Tenille Arts, Wolf Tyla, Sofia D’Angelo from the band ‘Michelle,’ Calabasas, Emei, Fresco Trey, and more.
In an attempt to revive the live music scene, Anti-Social Producer’s Club was founded in the summer of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Founder Danny Ross began the collective, which has become a thriving hub for writers and producers in the New York music industry and is known as the biggest songwriting camp in the world.
