On April 23, POM Wonderful hosted an intimate dinner in collaboration with Chef JJ Johnson and Rethink Food. The evening brought guests together to celebrate Earth Day through a focus on sustainability, food access, and community impact.
The evening opened with a cocktail hour, followed by a live culinary demonstration from Chef JJ Johnson. The experience went beyond dining, creating space for conversation around responsibility, creativity, and care. Each moment of the evening was shaped by a sense of purpose, encouraging guests to engage more deeply with the ideas behind the plate.
Held in partnership with Rethink Food, the dinner highlighted the organization’s ongoing work addressing food insecurity across New York City. Its model focuses on redistributing surplus food through local partners, helping to reduce waste, strengthen community food systems, and reinforce the link between sustainability and access.
Honoring Earth Day, the evening felt grounded and reflective, bringing guests into a shared understanding that food connects people to the world around them, and that real change often begins at that point of connection.
That same focus carried through the menu, with POM Wonderful pomegranate featured in every course, adding depth and tying each dish together. The menu reflected a great balance of global influence and seasonal ingredients, with bold flavors and thoughtful execution throughout.
As the dinner came to a close, the impact extended beyond the menu. Guests left with a renewed sense of how small, intentional actions can contribute to something larger, whether through food, community, or everyday choices leaving guests inspired to carry it forward.
