Dave East, a popular rap artist, has partnered up with Diadora and Foot Locker, Inc. for the debut launch of Dave East x Diadora N9002, their latest sneakers drop. During an event taking place in Harlem, New York last month, fans and sneaker collectors had the opportunity to see this for the first time in person.
Dave values and finds within himself the energies and characteristics Diadora’s latest release embodies. Taking on a cream colorway, the shoe signifies themes such as being grounded in calmness and a sense of a sense of belonging and a sense of finding yourself in the world. Additionally, the shoe features a touch of deep blue, which represents loyalty, honesty, and trust, while the light orange hues used in the shoe are meant to represent optimism and energy.
At his store, “from the Deli”, where he lives in Harlem, East unveiled an exclusive sneak peak at the shoe’s release. In addition to East’s FTD brand and his strain of cannabis called “East Lato,” there are murals on the walls depicting Nipsey Hussle, DJ Kay Slay, and Popsmoke to keep alive Nipsey’s message that “The marathon continues.”
We got the chance to catch up with Dave East as we talked about the partnership. Also, Dave East stars as Method Man in Wu Tang: An American Saga as the final season is set to premiere on February 15th on Hulu and he gave us a small snippet of what we will see once the show comes back.
