To kick off New York Fashion Week, Transformer Table brought art, design and storytelling to SoHo with A Seat at Her Table, an immersive collaboration with Netflix’s Selling Sunset star, artist and interior designer, Amanza Smith.
Set inside a 4,000-square-foot gallery on Thompson Street, the experience celebrates the Canadian furniture brand’s 10th anniversary and first New York show while previewing its new Gather Collection.
This multi-sensory pop up is far more than a traditional furniture showcase, using artwork and tablescapes to tell Smith’s story throughout different chapters of her life.
For viewers who have followed Smith on Selling Sunset, the collaboration feels like a natural extension of what they have already seen on screen. While luxury real estate provides the foundation for the series, Smith’s creativity and eye for interiors has long been part of her presence. Audiences have also watched her navigate motherhood, career shifts, and personal challenges, revealing more of the woman behind the television personality.
A Seat at Her Table honors the multifaceted woman that Smith is by bringing all different sides of her into one place. Across six rooms, the exhibition follows her journey from childhood through family life to her career on television and recovery from vertebral osteomyelitis, a rare and life threatening health condition.

Each chapter is anchored in reflection and evolution. This concept connects naturally with Transformer Table, known for adaptable furniture that expands for different spaces and gatherings. As Smith’s story progresses, the tables grow with it, turning the brand’s signature functionality into part of the storytelling.
The exhibition also previews Transformer Table’s new Gather Collection, inspired by classic farmhouse dining. The expandable tables are designed for everyday use and larger gatherings, accommodating as many as 14 guests.
The meaning behind A Seat at Her Table extends beyond furniture. Having “a seat at the table” often represents opportunity and belonging, but the exhibition also asks visitors to consider who helped them get there. Towards the end, a fully extended table with one unreserved seat invites guests to reflect on the people who have made space for them along the way.
A Seat at Her Table concludes its free public run at 55 Thompson Street in SoHo on September 14. Transformer Table’s Gather Collection is expected to launch later this month.
