Festival goers entered the venue under a bright orange, pink, and green Broccoli World arch, welcoming them into a wide array of tents housing vendors, sponsors, and local food to choose from.

In true festival spirit, guests had the opportunity to take a ride on the Broccoli City ferris wheel, giving them an expansive view of the festival grounds. Although the weather was chilly, rainy, and a bit windy throughout the weekend, it didn’t stop attendees from dancing, singing, and rapping along with their favorite songs and artists at the festival’s primary tent, the Broccoli City stage, and secondary tent, Club Legendary. Club Legendary featured various DJs and the festival’s headliners and featured artists performed on the Broccoli City stage.

Broccoli City, an organization founded by Brandon McEachern in 2003, has had a presence in Washington, DC for at least a decade. With a focus on a millennial and Gen Z audience, the Broccoli City festival and events encourage environmental sustainability, food access, and education for the communities it serves.

Over 85,000 people attended the activities and concerts during Broccoli City festival, with many many viewers tuning in throughout the weekend. In addition to Broccoli City festival, the Broccolicon & Career Expo and a 5K Run & Fitness in Anacostia Park all took over the District as BLK Change Weekend, a positive, fun experience for everyone who came out to participate.

When they weren’t turning up at the Broccoli City Stage or Club Legendary, attendees enjoyed activity and food tents set up by the festival’s many vendors, which included Electric Standard, Nikki Moon, aka Heyshedraws, Rich Grillz DMV, Paradyce, National Museum of African Art, a Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness photo booth, Headcount, Department of Energy and Environment, Crown Royal, Roaming Rooster, Lattimores Funnel Cakes, The Crab Cab, Jerk at Nite, and Ciroc.
