Louisville, Kentucky rapper EST Gee has come a long way since kicking off his music career in 2018.

After facing many trials and tribulations, Gee is finally where he’s supposed to be, next up. Last month Gee dropped his latest project I Still Don’t Feel Nun and last week he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel with Jack Harlow. He’s collaborated with Moneybagg Yo, Yo Gotti, and many other heavy hitters, who appear oh his latest project. In 2017 Gee picked up music after college football fell through. In 2018 he released debuted with “New Number,” followed by El Toro and Die Bloody. In 2019, Gee was “caught in the wrong place at the wrong time” and was shot five times. While recovering, Gee got to work on Ion Feel Nun. Thereafter Gee released his follow-up project I Still Don’t Feel Nun. Check out our full interview EST Gee below!

The Knockturnal: How did you get your stage name?

EST Gee: G’s the first letter of my name and EST stands for everybody shine together, that’s the name of the label that I started.

The Knockturnal: How old were you when you first started experimenting with music?

EST Gee: 23, 24, I started writing songs.

The Knockturnal: When did you start pursuing music seriously and why?

EST Gee: Right when I started, I started putting out music in 2018. Wanting my story to be told, from my perspective, not nobody else’s, then I seen people liked it and it made it easier to put out.

The Knockturnal: How did it feel releasing I Still Don’t Feel Nun?

EST Gee: I feel like people were waiting on it and I feel like I delivered and did better than they expected. I feel like everybody pay attention to my stuff now, one of the best projects that came out in 2020.

The Knockturnal: Can you talk about some of the collaborations on the project?

EST Gee: That one was smooth because everybody was pushing up on me.

The Knockturnal: What was it like performing on Kimmel with Jack Harlow?

ESt Gee: I can’t describe the feeling, it was cool. I never imagined doing something like that. I never knew how big it was. We had background dancers and choreography.

The Knockturnal: What are you currently working on and what do you have on the way?

EST Gee: Me and Dugg got a project we’re working on and I got my own tape on the way soon. That what I got in the first quarter and keeping the visuals going. I’m gonna drop 4 more videos, they’re definitely favorites. Keep the momentum going.

The Knocktunal: What’s the most important thing you’ve learned so far in your career?

EST Gee: Don’t worry about other shit just focus on the music, marketing, and all that other stuff ain’t important if the music not good.
