We caught up with Asics to get an exclusive look inside their upcoming Autumn/Winter 2018 collection and Special Product Showcase. Last week Asics hosted an intimate fall preview and guided meditation class at Interscape in New York.
We spoke to Asics Performance merchandising manager Paul Lang about the latest footwear coming this season. The sleek and slender silhouette of the footwear is complemented by the new beaded foam technology that meshes together with gel. Asics’ latest collection also includes collaboration with Steve Aoki. Another fun highlight was the high top sneaker boot coming later this summer. Asics has always been either very performance oriented or lifestyle oriented and these shoes exist in the middle ground.
The “DynaFlyte 3” is one of the most popular performance shoes and the newest version has an updated midsole and 50% eco story. Recycled sugar cane remnants are used to create a resilient foam used in this latest footwear.
This upcoming collection utilized sustainability as the season’s hottest trend. As a continuation of Sound Body, and Sound Mind, Sound Earth has an increased eco- the upper is about 50% polyester, with no toxic glues or dyes and drops in October.
