Grab your julep and watch the horses race.
This past Sunday was the Kentucky Derby which meant everyone was breaking out their bright colors and big hats. Whether you are a fan of horse racing, placing bets, or dressing up, Derby Day has something for everyone. And to celebrate the 149th Kentucky Derby, Woodford Reserve hosted an event at M Social in Times Square to celebrate. Guests gathered at the gorgeous rooftop space and sported bright colors, one of which being blue in celebration of Secretariat.
Woodford Reserve was also one of the official sponsors of the Kentucky Derby. And during Derby Day they were featuring a limited edition cup that could be purchased for $1000. What makes these cups so special is that they are designed with blue and white checked silks in sapphires and sport the colors of Secretariat in honor of the 50th anniversary of Secretariat.
Once gathered guests enjoyed a selection of bite sized snacks provided by M Social as well as sipping on craft cocktails featuring Woodford Reserve. Our favorite drink was the Mint Julep, which is the official drink of the Kentucky Derby. What makes a Woodford Reserve Mint Julep special is the inclusion of the Whiskey which adds a beautiful caramel sweetness along with a bit of oak to the otherwise sweet drink.
And towards the end of the event, guests gathered around the TV screen to watch the Derby race and witness Mage winning first place.
