The long awaited story of Queen Charlotte from our favorite Netflix Original series Bridgerton is finally here.
The anticipation for “Queen Charlotte a Bridgerton Story” has finally been settled. The hit Netflix spin-off premiered Thursday May 4, 2023 and I can’t stop watching it. We celebrated the premier night with the cast and Shonda Rhimes herself at Paley Center for Media in New York City. Fans of the Bridgerton series gathered together for a first time screening of the new soon to be hit show,
If you were a fan of the original series Bridgerton, then you’re going to love “Queen Charlotte a Bridgerton Story”. They lean into the story of our favorite Shondaland Queen, Queen Charlotte. From how she met and married King George. To her current victories and unfortunate challenges that she faces as Queen. The story is told in very Shonda Rhimes fashion, with a nice slice of humor, a huge slice of drama, and last and certainly not least, lots of steamy high chemistry moments between our characters.
Characters like our new favorite fresh faces India Ria Amarteifio as the young Charlotte, Corey Mylchreest as the young King George, and Arsema Thomas as the young Agatha Danbury. Although the series is focused on Queen Charlotte’s story, the story of King George and Agatha are also told in the enchanted series, “Queen Charlotte a Bridgerton Story”. All of the characters’ lives align with Queen Charlotte, as she graciously finds her way through life at court and life in general.
It continually amazes me how powerful and brilliant Shonda’s writing is. Knowing that each character has so many layers is a setup for greatness. From the wardrobe which Golda Rosheuvel who plays Queen Charlotte, says can take up to “2 hours to get ready”. Just know that when you watch anything, Bridgerton, you’re investing your watch time into powerful writing, spectacular acting, and divine inspirational wardrobe.
