On Saturday night, the inaugural White Cross Ball was held in the Metropolitan Club of New York City. Hosted by the Knights and Dames of the Sovereign Order of Malta, the event fundraised for global initiatives in the West Bank, Syria and Nepal, and for the disabled youth.
The program consisted of a seated dinner, raffle and auction, and cocktails with music provided by a live DJ named DJ NatDodge. The venue featured large areas for guests to mingle, with a dimmed room with live music and a grand main ballroom for cocktails.

[slideshow]The White Cross Ball of New York carried to the United States the 35-year tradition of the White Knights Ball in London as well as the Order of Malta balls of various other cities (Edinburgh, Stockholm, Warsaw, Madrid, Paris, Bern, and Milan) and the Order of Malta International Games in St. Moritz. These events are held to raise funds to continue the Order’s 900 years of local and global work of assisting the sick, the poor, and the suffering in over 120 countries.
