Monday night in New York City – as good as any night to enjoy a beautiful glass of Italian wine…or two, or three.
On February 6th, The Italian Trade Commission hosted a glamorous “creative black tie” vino gala (wine gala) at chic event space Spring Studios in New York. The Knockturnal was on the scene to sample some of Italy’s best wines and enjoy light bites like spinach ricotta balls and walnut macarons.
But mostly to sample the wine. The gala wasn’t just wine either, but champagne and prosecco as well. Our favorite was the Zinga extra dry prosecco which was not too sweet and not too acidic, but a well balanced bubbly to toast the evening with.
Italian fine goods were also on display for guests to view. From a shiny bright red vespa to the beautiful Vanity Fair brown leather arm chair by designer Poltrona Frau.
Guests also had the opportunity to get their personality appraised by The Bumbys – an anonymous performance artist duo who provide “a fair and honest appraisal of your appearance” as quoted from their Web site. We won’t divulge our appraisal but we will say that we hit the heavier reds afterward.
DJ Gillian Sagansky kept a modern/euro vibe spinning electro pop tunes through out the evening.Vino Gala 2017 left us planning our next trip to Italy. The wine is that good.
