Some brands follow culture, others become part of it. For more than two decades, True Religion has become synonymous with an era contributing to fashion, music and New York style. On September 13, True Religion presented Iconography: That Was Then, This Is Now at the Flyfish club in New York City, celebrating its evolution by bringing together the names who helped define its legacy with a new generation shaping what comes next.
Notable appearances throughout the night included Fabolous, Ja Rule, Joey Bada$$, Dave East, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Cash Cobain, Dess Dior, Davido, Jayda Cheaves, Julez Smith, and more.
The celebration continued with performances from Dess Dior and Joey Bada$$, who arrived fresh off his sold-out run at New York’s Blue Note. Later, Fabolous surprised the crowd with an unannounced set before Ja Rule joined him at the DJ booth for “Ride for This,” delivering one of the night’s biggest throwback moments.

That sense of nostalgia carried throughout the evening. Behind the bar, Hpnotiq cocktails offered another nod to the era, bringing a familiar taste of the early 2000s into the mix.

While the night showed how True Religion has grown beyond denim, fashion remained at the heart of it. Inside the gifting suite, the Y2K spirit carried into pieces from the upcoming Fall ’26 Iconography capsule collection starring Cash Cobain and Jayda Cheaves. Guests were styled in denim, statement outerwear, accessories and matching sets, bringing familiar True Religion codes into a new season.
The night was a fitting reminder that the music, style, and personalities that helped create such a lasting cultural footprint didn’t disappear but evolved. With one generation that helped build the legacy in the room and another carrying it forward, True Religion used NYFW to celebrate its past while giving a glimpse of where it’s headed next.
