The Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks this year was certainly a grand celebration.

RÜFÜS DU SOL, is an Australian group from Sydney, that consists of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt. When they aren’t bringing their ambient sounds to the white sand beaches of Tulum, they’re vibing out with musical festival junkies at Coachella, Lollapalooza or Electric Forest. The trio who now play stadiums worldwide, began back in 2010 and just won their first Grammy in the best dance/electronic recording category for their track “Alive.”
This past summer in July of 2021, the group put out ‘Alive’ as their first song in 3 years. Frontman Tyrone Lindqvist said “It’s a heavier song in some ways, but at its core it’s hopeful.”
They originally caught the attention of partygoers in 2015 when their single “You Were Right” won the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release. Their Grammy win follows two previous nominations in 2020, so for them the 3rd time was definitely the charm.
“It’s not the reason we make music, to get accolades, but it is nice to have recognition and have people identify with the work,” they told Billboard ahead of receiving the award.
The hit DJs celebrated their evening with a special one-night only event at private nightclub, Intrigue, inside the Wynn Las Vegas. The post-Grammys festivities began with a red laser light show forming into hues of magenta and cyan. The performers focused on playing songs to get the crowd bobbing up and down to the deep bass. Fans immediately were cheering in congratulations and offered a warm applause in between transitions of beat drops. Their set lasted until around 4:00am, ending with one of their most popular hits, ‘Interbloom’ to close out the late night into early morning.
The Wynn just announced a few days ago that RÜFÜS DU SOL signed a DJ residency for 2022 so fans can expect to see more of them there. RÜFÜS DU SOL is no stranger to the epic Wynn nightlife scene and will fit in seamlessly. Recently, they played a set during the Art of The Wild Festival at XS nightclub.
They also just announced their North American summer tour which kicks off in Chicago starting June.

On The Scene: NYC Mayor Eric Adams, Jane Lynch, Patti LuPone and More Attend Opening Night of Broadway’s “Paradise Square”
In the mid 1800s, lower Manhattan contained a row of streets that were known as the Five Points.
@theknockturnal.com we had such an amazing time! thank you @merrell #theknockturnal #vlog #merrell #merrellshoes #melrose #bts #fyp #foryou #losangeles #event #spa #meditation #mindfullness ♬ every summertime - chillytunees
On March 24th, The Knockturnal got an exclusive look into Merrell’s newest “spa” pop-up. The 15-30 minute increment experience took place March 24-27, 2022 in Melrose.
Yvonne Mbanefo, filmmaker discusses the making of the newest project Equiano.Stories, the importance of telling this story.
The Knockturnal was on the scene for the star-studded world premiere of ‘1883’ at the Wynn Las Vegas.
“Art Basel is the leading global platform connecting collectors, galleries, and artists,” according to the official website’s about section. “Art Basel’s Initiatives strive to create unique artist-led experiences and strengthen local art scenes.”
If you ask around though anyone will tell you it pretty much feels like it’s LA and New York crowds coming together with the tropical backdrop that is Miami. A chance to mix and mingle, attend fabulous parties, discover emerging artists, and do so all in the name of art.
Of course, The Knockturnal was on the scene in paradise city where we got to stop by the Zadig & Voltaire + Cultured event. Taking place at Zadig & Voltaire’s Miami Design District location, the celebration honored the brand’s philanthropic partnership with the L.A. Dance Project. Andrew Warren, RHOSLC’s Brooks Marks, and Gaia Matisse (great-great granddaughter of late artist Henri Matisse) hosted the event.
Special guests in attendance included Montana Tucker, Devon Windsor, Austin Mahone, Blake Gray and Michelle Salas among several others. Sips were had courtesy of ultra-luxe tequila brand Cincoro Tequila and their Miami inspired cocktail menu.
While, it’s no surprise fashion has infiltrated the Art Basel scene, the film landscape has also made it’s way into the event/ basel party circuit with an exclusive pop-up put together by Universal Pictures and Stella Artois. The private rooftop party took place at the notorious Soho Beach Club Miami to celebrate the release of the upcoming film The 355.
DJ Amrit hands down understood the assignment and gave the crowd some latin music mixes to bop to. It’s Miami after all! Specialty cocktails were flowing (obvi) and the most delicious appetizers were passed around. Cannot confirm or deny but suspicion that night was they were from Cecconi’s downstairs. Do I need to say more? You already know the hors d’oeuvre‘s were automatically a hit. My personal favorite were the truffle honey whipped ricotta crostinis. *Insert gasping emoji.* That’s how good they were.
In attendance model Charlotte McKinney, influencer Charly Jordan, and dancer Montana Tucker amongst more lovely guests. No sightings of Jessica Chastain, Penelope Cruz, or any of the stars of the film, but that’s okay because we can watch them on the big screen once the film hits theaters January 7th.
Bathtub Gin, Beloved New York Speakeasy Bar Now Celebrating Its 10th Anniversary, Announces the Opening of “Bathtub Gin LA,” Its First-Ever Expansion
Bathtub Gin, the beloved New York speakeasy bar by visionary Dave Oz, has expanded to new heights, “Bathtub Gin LA” in West Hollywood. The new Prohibition-inspired speakeasy channels a Roaring Twenties vibe, with exceptional craft cocktails, a unique G&T menu, an expansive gin selection, unique décor and robust live entertainment. Located at 7174 Melrose Avenue, it is hidden above Stone Street LA, a working all-day café that opened in July and serves as the speakeasy’s “front.”
“Bathtub Gin LA is a dream come true and a celebration of our concept’s 10th anniversary milestone,” says Dave Oz, Owner, Bathtub Gin and Bathtub Gin LA. “LA has long been on my radar and I have many friends here. I saw that cocktail culture was starting to bloom and there was a unique opportunity for a Prohibition era-inspired speakeasy. LA also has an incredible entertainment culture, which resonates with our brand’s DNA. Coupled with the fact that Bathtub Gin has a strong bicoastal clientele, the expansion here made perfect sense. Other cities are in the pipeline, too, so stay tuned.”
With no outdoor signage, guests knock on a discreet door on the side of Stone Street LA. Through a peephole, they are asked for a password. Once inside, they are escorted up a stairway where they are transported back in time to what feels like a secret speakeasy set in a 1920s Hollywood home. Guest privacy is assured through a strict no-photography policy which is great for the celebrities, artists, models, musicians, and business moguls who Bathtub Gin readily attracts.
Bathtub Gin LA’s location in the Melrose Arts District straddles the border between West Hollywood and Hollywood. Melrose Avenue enjoys heavy foot traffic and the residential neighborhood hosts numerous up-and-coming fashion stores, interior design showrooms and art galleries, along with a diverse clientele, much like Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood that is home to the original Bathtub Gin. Centrally located in Los Angeles, it is a destination for a growing roster of on-trend and timeless restaurants and bars, like Mozza, Delilah, Milk Bar, Formosa Cafe, Jones, Umbrella Company, Roger Room, Employees Only and Pink’s Hot Dogs.
Be sure to swing by if you’re ever in Los Angeles. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the celebrities you may see and which guest who had one too many drinks actually end up getting in the tub.
