This week The Rooftop Film Club began sharing their unique take on outdoor cinema at the terrace of the Yotel. They’ve planned and perfected the art of presenting a movie outdoors. To combat the noise you’re bound to encounter in New York, they smartly play the sound through noise cancelling headphones. The screen was the perfect size for an audience of about one hundred. They said they spent some time finding the right place to launch in New York, and the terrace of the Yotel was great. It had a great ambiance, convenient bar, and ample places to wait and admire the city skyline in case you arrive early. Even if you encounter rain like I did, the show still goes on. They stand ready to hand out waterproof ponchos.
Film lovers will feel right at home and the casual moviegoer will love the whole rooftop setting. Regardless, you should not miss out on this great experience. With a wide range of classics, fan favorites, and new releases, there is something for everyone.
