The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation hosted their annual Women of Distinction Luncheon in grand style on April 13.
Hundreds gathered in the newly re-opened Waldorf Astoria in New York City for an afternoon of fundraising and fashion like no other.

Celebrating exceptional individuals from various industries who dedicate their days to improving the lives of women, the IBD community, and society, attendees once again raised millions on this special day on the calendar year.

Supporting the foundation’s ongoing efforts to find cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease, is a worthy and notable cause that is honored on this day for now what marks 33 years of doing good. As in the past, every luncheon brings to the event a lavish fashion runway show. The thrill of the legendary Oscar de la Renta took the spotlight this year.

The day began with what has come to be known as one of the most exciting silent auctions in town, with top items from the beauty industry to a coveted Hermes bags on the table. Following were moments that honored special inductees as speeches were dedicated to their efforts and work.
Journalist Lori Stokes kicked off the luncheon with welcoming remarks that perfectly summed up the herculean efforts of those involved to make a positive change. All ears and hearts in the room were at full attention with a desire to want to make a difference.
Distinguished honorees included Millie D. Long, M.D., MPH who received the 2026 Woman of Distinction in Medicine and Randi Siegal and Brett Siegal who jointly received the 2026 Champions of Courage.
“We are proud to celebrate these extraordinary honorees whose leadership and compassion continue to move our mission forward,” said Michael Osso, President & CEO of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. “Their impact extends far beyond their individual achievements—they inspire hope, drive progress in research and care, and help us get closer every day to a future free from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.”
After the presentation ceremony, the fashion looks of Oscar de la Renta took the stage. Eyes were glazed over with bliss to see the stylish presentation that was epically divine. The pre-fall 2026 collection elevated the day to soaring heights full of wonder.
It was a stunning walk on the runway that helped take a step toward awareness amongst all. Since 1993, the luncheon has raised nearly $38 million for research, support, and educational programs. The Foundation has played a role in every major research breakthrough in IBD.The Foundation’s work is dramatically accelerating the research process, while also providing extensive educational and support resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public.
