Concert Review: Teyana Taylor Headlines Belasco Theater

Recent mother and wife, Teyana Taylor lit up the Belasco Theater in LA last night to everyone’s delight. The Unplugged Tour started off with DJ Raj Smoove playing all the right tunes to get the crowd excited. Then the clock stuck 9:30pm and the house lights dimmed. The audience went wild and excited turned to LIT.

Seductively walking to the stage with a suit jacket and skin thigh tights was Def Jam recording artist Teyana Taylor or “T” as we learned she preferred. Her debut album VII which was released in 2015 came jam packed with sultry new school R&B like “Put Your Love On,” “Business” and “Just Different”, which the hundreds in attendance absolutely loved.

My first thoughts when T started dancing was “woah” she is definitely on her way to Janet Jackson star status. She covered some of her hit “I Get So Lonely” along with Aaliyah “One In A Million.”

Her squad (background dancers) helped add even more sexy to the stage but fans really went crazy when her newly born daughter, Junie, graced the stage. Oh and who can forgot about Def Jam label mate, Big Sean fresh off his collobaration album Twenty88 with Jhene Aiko, randomly coming on stage to say hi.

All in all her show highlighted her talents as a performer and displayed just how great her career will be. I know we’re all rooting for her here at Knockturnal.
