An intimate premiere was held for “Teen Wolf: The Movie,” at the Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles. And it felt much like a family reunion.
The “Teen Wolf,” series first aired in 2011 for six seasons until 2017. After nearly six years, the cast returns along with a few newcomers for “Teen Wolf: The Movie.” The movie picks up 15 years after the series left off, and not only are there a few new faces, but there are some faces that the viewers never thought they would see again, such as Crystal Reed who plays Allison Argent.
During the premiere, it was evident how incredibly close this cast was. While interviewing the cast, there were approximately three different interviews interrupted by other castmates which led to us being a fly on the wall for their conversation. Tyler Posey (Scott McCall) filling in the fans on an inside joke he shared with Vince Mattis, who plays Eli Hale aka Tyler Hoechlin’s (Derek Hale) son, surprise! Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar) and Ian Bohen (Peter Hale) debated on who smelled better. And Colton Haynes (Jackson Whittemore) and Posey reenacted a famous scene of theirs.
Since the show turned film has had some of the cast working together for nearly 13 years, some of the veterans of the cast pointed out who had gone through the most growth over the years. Ian Bohen (Peter Hale), Jeff Davis (Executive Producer) and even Posey credit the man himself, Tyler Posey, as experiencing the most progress since the start of filming the first season. Davis saying, “He was a real skater kid from the valley when we met him and now he grew into a real number one on the show.”
One thing the cast made sure to bring attention to, was that they credit the fans for bringing the franchise back, and this time bigger than ever. Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall) couldn’t thank the fans enough for all they’ve done for the cast. Pointing out how they refer to her as, “Mama McCall.” Tyler Posey saying, “I don’t think it would’ve come back as a movie if people didn’t give a shit about it.”
