Tasting Notes Presented by Jack Daniel’s Invited Guests to a Tasting Unlike Any Other

Tasting Notes presented by Jack Daniels hosted a night of music, art, and whiskey at the Andaz West Hollywood.

The popular Tennessee whiskey brand invited guests to a tasting unlike any other. Eric ‘ET’ Tecosky, the National Brand Ambassador for Jack Daniel’s guided attendees through the evening sharing, “my father was all Sinatra all the time and my mother kind of bread rock n roll to me in utero and both those worlds meet at Jack Daniels.”

Tecosky had been mixing drinks behind the bars of Los Angeles for over 25 years which ultimately led him to his role as brand ambassador and also was his introduction to friend and acclaimed musician Carlos Calvo.  Calvo is a member of the band ‘Carlos Calvo Acoustic Trio’ which is currently the house band for Room 7, Jack Daniel’s private lounge in Los Angeles. Now he has partnered with Tecosky in creating Tasting Notes, an interactive whiskey tasting experience which consists of each whiskey (Rye, Single, Barrell, etc.) having its own accompanying guitar cue that reflects the flavor profiles of that particular whiskey. Guests tasted five different kinds of  whiskey while taking in the particular flavors that were enhanced through the music. “Music can trigger all kinds of emotions and there has been research that actually shows that music has the ability to modify the taste of whiskey,” Tecosky shared. As each song played guests were asked to nose and sip the whiskey as they tried to distinguish which dominant flavors they could taste.

Following the tasting attendees were invited to check out the latest installation by Song-Word Art as well as enjoy food, music, and more Jack Daniel’s cocktails. Song-Word Art House curates and produces art exhibitions inspired by the lyrics of legendary songwriters. Co-founder, Joe Woolf explained, “all the art we curated was especially for the Andaz, it’s called the Andaz Collection and it basically has art that’s inspired from every genre of music. Sometimes we do themes, sometimes we do individual songwriters or major bands  but today it’s a collection, it’s really a cross section of different genres of music.”
