This New York Fashion Week, Alleira Batik collaborated with Carys Mihardja, on their joint collection “Paradise”. “Paradise” seeks to bring critical exposure to the underexplored beauty of Indonesia’s Batik culture while simultaneously shining the spotlight on marginalized communities. On The Scene: Inside The Vivacious, Star Studded, Opening Night of Revolve Gallery
If you’ve had access to social media this week, chances are you’ve heard a thing or two about Revolve Gallery. Earlier this month, Revolve made the long-awaited announcement that their iconic gala would be returning to New York Fashion Week. Taking place five floors up at New York’s glamorous Hudson Yards, the interactive, fifteen-room exhibition takes guests on a glamorous walk through all of Revolve’s latest collections. Its opening night has been one of Fashion Week’s most highly anticipated events, and it certainly did not disappoint. We had an exciting first look at the now quintessential NYFW event, here’s a bit of what it was like:
As soon as you first step out of the elevator, you’re awaited with a stunning pink room filled with Insta-worthy moments ranging from a giant mirrored R to a gorgeous white backdrop. The opening night was complete with a red carpet, where you could catch a glimpse of stars like Ciara, Angus Cloud, Lori Harvey, Sabrina Carpenter and so many more.
The first room you enter in the exhibit features pieces from NBD in a pitch-black room illuminated by bouncing spotlights. The first thing we noticedwas the showcases’ occasional lack of mannequins. Instead, some of the pieces were featured on models, adding an element of performance art to the experience. Make sure to adjust your eyes, because the dark NBD room quickly fades away into theSanta Brands X Revolve Collection, which features sparkling dresses in an exhibit made to resemble a corn field, where even the wheat sparkles.
From there, guests are treated to an iridescent room by Kim Shui, shown an immersive, 3 wall presentation on the dangers of micro plastics and the importance of sustainability, and a gorgeous warm yellow room featuring Camila Coelho’s latest collection. At this point, you can stop for a drink, at an Onda bar right in the middle of the exhibit. Next up on the adventure is the Lovers and Friendsroom, whose timeless designs are only fit to be in a room that belongs in a storybook. The mystical pink room is complete with vines on the walls and a beautiful mirror to document the experience.
Ciara’s collection will have you feeling like you stepped out of the exhibit and into a nightclub with the rooms fabulous red mood lighting. The collection is bold and stylish, just like the room itself. It leads right into our personal favorite room (though they all come so close), Remi Bader’s Remi x Revolve collection, being showcased in a dazzling purple waled exhibit complete with hundreds of disco balls. There was not an inch of the room that wasn’t illuminated with the dazzling disco light, and we couldn’t get enough. The next room was a stark contrast from the dimly lit disco ball
room, with Aya Muse’s Revolve collection being presented in a stunning room filled with plants and trees. The beautiful designs were perched on platforms being held up by rocks, creating the perfect outdoor illusion. House of Harlow had us feeling like we’d walked straight into a Sci-Fi movie with their 1960 x Revolve collection. The room was illuminated by dim red lighting that had bo0th the atmosphere and the collection feeling both futuristic and vintage at the same time.
It was time for another drink break, and luckily Celsius had us covered. The seltzer’s were on display in a gorgeous Gym Style setup, with a fridge containing some limited edition flavors. We sipped on our seltzers while we walked into the next room; Eaves and L’academie’s collections on display in a room resembling an airplane, pretty much to a T. Guests who visited the next room would be greeted by the familiar site of Kendal Jenner’s Iconic 818 Tequila Brand, who had their own lounge in right after Eaves and L’academie. The beautiful room was not all, as guests were treated to special edition 818 drinks and cute stickers as they enjoyed the many sites in the exhibit.
Michael Costello’s designs were next on deck, on display in a glimmering chandelier room filled with differently shaped mirrors. Andrea Iyamah’s room was to follow, and it had us traveling from circular platforms across piles of pebbles to get to the different sites of the room. Decorated to look like a living room, Helsa’s room was up next, with their gorgeous accessories displayed all throughout the room. Before making one final
drink stop at the Lacroix Room, we viewed the stunning designs of Well Being + Being Well in a glimmering sunset room as our last stop at the exhibit.
There was truly so much to see in every room that the experience was both so much fun and so incredibly memorable. The contrast from room to room provided so much excitement for what was to come, as we knew it wouldn’t be like anything we’d seen before. Each room held so much personality and the designs were so well represented by their corresponding exhibits.

With her glamorous gowns being seen on ABC’s The Bachelor, Randi Rham absolutely dazzles when it comes to couture. Her one of a kind designs have been seen on celebrities like Mariah Carrey, Billy Porter, Chita Rivera, and so many more. On Thursday, she unveiled her newest collection Let’s PlayVolume 1, at her gorgeous Manhattan Studio. The collection is nothing short of fun, with bright colorful accents and fabulous beaded trains.
Rham had incorporated zippers into many of the designs, which created an element of versatility. She showed us a dress on a model that had a long sheer train, and demonstrated that if the wearer had wanted to cover up for a more modest event, they can bring the train up to create a shawl. The practicality in the stunning garments are just one of the many things that makes Rham unique. “I do not consider myself a fashion designer, but an artist who performs her work through design,” Rahm says. “Fine art never goes out of style- it is a constant reflection of our ever-changing selves.”
The showcase took place in her decked out, candy-land inspired studio. From the moment we exited the elevator, we were greeted with a candy-land style rainbow pathway leading to the door. Once inside, we saw endless bright colors and sparkles, candy memorabilia everywhere, and a giant display of clear plastic bubbles that had us feeling like we’d just stepped into the Wizard Of Oz. While we were there, the models were having a photoshoot so we could get a feel of what that was like. The collection was dazzling, with the studio color coordinated so that each colored piece was with its match. The dresses contained hand beading, beautiful silk, and so much more. The whole collection is based on childhood sweet treats, and we can’t get enough of its beauty.

Kate Spade is celebrating their upcoming 30-year anniversary with their stunning spring 2023 collection. The unveiling took place yesterday on the 78th floor of the world trade center, in a gorgeous airy room where you could see the whole city at any angle. Trailblazer and Tiktok sensation Dylan Mulvaney hosted the show as she gave viewers an exciting look at the latest installment. The collection was designed by Tom Mora and Jennifer Lyu, and it “reflects the beauty of spring and the adventures that come when you least expect them…like the simple pleasure of getting caught in the rain,” they said. While keeping the feel of Kate Spade’s heritage brand codes, Mora and Lyu teamed up to give the collection a new perspective and feel. The colors are bright and the designs are partnered and so much fun. It’s truly a beautiful representation of the little things in life, and it’s sure to be a reminder of the joy in life for anyone who wears the collection. There was one bag that started it all for Kate Spade, and this season the brand has decided to reimagine it for this new generation. The Sam bag is recreated with all new fabrics and a new look brought to you by 100% recycled materials.

To channel the feeling they set out to create, getting caught in the rain, it was quite literally raining inside on the 78th floor. The showcase featured lines of models standing along a grass-filled runway with baloon-made clouds on top of them. The rain came from the clouds on either side of the runway, and there was even a flash of light to represent lightning every now and then.

There’s way more to NYFW than just the runway shows. While the runway shows are one of the most important parts of NYFW, they’re not the only NYFW activity that brings the crowds.
