New York City is one of the greatest places in the world to spend any holiday, and valentineβs day is no exception! Watching the city transform into a beautiful vision of love and excitement makes the month of February one of the best. Pink and red truly make the holiday what it is, and our favorite place to go when we need some color in our lives is none other than SoHoβs The Color Factory!
You canβt miss the bright and colorful building as it lines the corner of the street, and thatβs just the beginning. Valentineβs day has unveiled such sweet additions at the museum, the first being a flower bodega right at the beginning of the experience. The little cart is the cutest place to snap some pictures, and walking through the factory with a pretty bouquet of flowers will put a smile on anyoneβs face!
The immersive walkthrough experience begins with rainbow streamers lining the entryway, and it only gets more colorful from there. The first room is complete with a macaron conveyorbelt, a transforming photo area, and more colors than you could ever imagine. Various cameras line each room so that you can get the perfect shot, and everyone leaves with so many little goodies, from candy to ice cream to a surprise gift at the end of the tour! There are music rooms, a massive gold dance floor, a floor maze that leads you to your secret color, and so much more! While itβs truly the most instagram worthy spot in the city, itβs so much more than that. It gives you the opportunity to learn something new about yourself, and someone that you love!
The Color Factory transformed its usual color pallet to create such a beautiful sea of Valentineβs day colors, and itβs iconic blue ball pit was complete with pink heart shaped, and even a slide! Weather you want to take the cutest pictures or just relax in the colorful sea, the opportunities are endless.
Such a big part of the color factory experience involves connecting with others, they feature a getting to know you color themed game where you stare at a friend or partner through a telephone booth and observe the colors of their hair, eyes, clothes, and even their mood. The ability to go through and connect with someone you love makes the color factory such an incredible date night location, and itβs even more perfect this time of year.
When we toured the museum for the holidays in December, I was in awe of the confetti room and couldnβt wait to see what they had in store for Valentineβs Day! The room was complete with confetti to match the new color pallet, as well as pretty heart shaped balloons lining the ceiling. The color wheel room was swirled with themes of pink and purple, and the whole experience was decked out for the occasion.
We truly can not get over how creative The Color Factory constantly is with their holiday experiences, itβs the best place to spend any holiday, but especially one dedicated to love, and the color pink! Experience it for yourself and get tickets here!
Amazon Music hosted a holiday party at Ludlow House on December 7 to celebrate Leon Bridgeβs latest cover, βPurple Snowflakes.βΒ
The recent Grammy nominee reinvents the Christmas bop, originally sung by Marvin Gaye, by giving it a soulful, Texan twist with a music video to match.
Known for his R&B hits, βRiverβ and βBeyond,β Bridges came across βPurple Snowflakesβ back in Fort Worth, Texas when he was bussing tables at Rosaβs Cafe.Β
βIt was part of their Christmas playlist,β he recalled, βbefore Shazam was a thing.β He continued, βUndeniable music, your just going to gravitate towards it. It was inevitable that I would record it one day.βΒ
That day came and the cover was released back in November before it was recorded exclusively for Amazon Musicβs Original holiday songs; a platform that features holiday music from artist all over the world.Β
Stream βPurple Snowflakesβ and more on Amazon Music now and watch the video on Amazon Musicβs YouTube account anytime. Happy holidays!Β
Bright lights, ice cream, every color imaginable, and the most Instagram worthy ballpit in the city. You donβt need anything but an Insta account to know exactly what weβre talking about. Since itβs NYC opening in August 2017, The Color Factory has been making headlines for its unique immersive experiences. The walk through museum features sweet treats, a drawing booth where you can learn a new thing or two about a friend, multiple music themed rooms, a floor map to find out your inner secret color, and so much more. The most iconic feature has to be itβs ballpits, every color factory location from Texas to California has featured one, all with their own unique color and design Β The Soho location in NYC is special in its own way, as the baby blue sea of balls makes you feel like youβre cruising through the ocean all in the comfort of the city.
Nothing is more special than the holidays in NYC, and The Color Factory was decked out for the occasion. Full of trees, lights and festivity, the already exciting rooms featured a warm sense of holiday cheer. The Factory was transformed for the holiday season, everything down to their iconic color pallets had been changed for a new immersive experience. The holidays are the most colorful time of year, so it only makes sense for the most Β colorful place in the city to match.
The Confetti Room
My first visit to the factory was in the summer of 2019, and I was surprised at just how much time and dedication went into transforming the place for this magical time of year. A room that had previously held complimentary beach balls now was covered from floor to ceiling in loose confetti and colorful Christmas trees. There were cameras all over the ceilings to create adorable videos, and we had the best time throwing confetti around the bright colorful room
Even the iconic ballpit got its own holiday makeover. Guests can find the cutest candy cane and peppermint pool floats hanging around, amazing for pictures and lazing around alike. Itβs the ideal place to sit and bask in the holiday cheer.
Peppermint Floats In The Ballpit
The Ball Pit also features a very special limited edition appearance from Santa Claus, and you know he reps the iconic color pallet as well. Santa appearances will begin on December 17th.
In addition to all of the aesthetics and fun, the holidays are a time of giving and The Color Factory does their part. they are partnering with NYC-based nonprofit Art Start, an organization dedicated to nurturing the voices, hearts, and minds of historically marginalized youth through art. In the museum, youβll find an on-site gifting wall. The wall invites guestsΒ to donate varying amounts of money to help purchaseΒ gifts for students of the arts. Guests can send art students gifts such as art supply bags, sketch pads, and even MetroCards to travel to and from workshops. It truly stresses the importance of art in our lives.
You can experience the magic of The Color Factoryβs immersive colorful life holiday exhibit yourself! See it from December 1st to the 24th, find tickets here!
Nothing reminds me of the holidays quite like Bryant Parkβs Winter Village.
