Festival season is not quite complete without a good pre or post-festival party. A fantastic day needs a fantastic start and what better way to start it off when you have somewhere to vibe (preferably pool side) and with complimentary drinks to set the tone for the fun filled day.

Wednesday, February 7th, 2024. Silencio NYC. Manhattan, New York.—In urban aristocratic fashion, Tres Generaciones® Tequila, The Dean Collection, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys’ shut down New York City at Silencio NYC on Wednesday February 7th. Silencio NYC is the latest addition to the expansion of the coveted Private Members Club, with its origins in Paris. The exclusive celebration, “Just Because-Aquarius Edition”, honored the opening ceremony for the iconic power couple on their new exhibition GIANTS which will open its display on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the historic Brooklyn Museum.
The affluent guests in attendance spanned from the world of art, literature, music and high-end to urban fashion to honor the high profile couple, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys for the opening of their new exhibition, GIANTS, at Brooklyn Museum. Guests in attendance included Swizz Beatz and Silencio owner Arnaud Frisch; Comedian-Actor Evan Ross was in attendance, along with American singer-songwriter and actress Ashlee Simpson, Supermodel Joan Smalls; and artists, American visual and performance artist and curator Derrick Adams and Contemporary African-American visual artist and painter, Mickalene Thomas.
Also in attendance was Nigerian-American singer-songwriter recording artist Davido, America Rapper DSmoke, DJ and Producer Note Mercato, world-renowned and award-winning performing artist, entrepreneur, and advocate for the arts and humanities Lil Buck, 3X CFDA Menswear of the Year winner Maxwell Osborne, Human Rights Activists Mysonne General and Tamika Mallory and renowned publicist Nadine Johnson and more.
It’s important to place emphasis on the accolades and prestige of all the creatives in attendance. It speaks to the pedigree of collaborators, circles of influence and community that fuels The Dean’s passion for art and self expression. The event honored Black artists from the GIANTS Exhibition at The Brooklyn Museum. The exhibition as a collection will include works from artists Gordon Parks, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lorna Simpson, Kehinde Wiley, Nina Chanel Abney and many more.
Ever searching for inspiration, The Deans, are notable for their philanthropic appreciation of the arts in all forms and champion the philosophy of “artists supporting artists.” To back their beliefs, a large scale of the couple’s personal artistic pieces, which they have coined as ‘The Dean Collection, GIANTS’ will showcase a focused selection from the world-class holdings. The Brooklyn Museum’s presentation spotlights works by BIPOC (black and indiginious people of color) diasporic artists, which is part of Brooklyn Museums ongoing efforts to expand the art-historical narrative that shape our society. The “Just Because-Aquarius Edition” party also celebrated the birthdays of the acclaimed artists – Mickalene Thomas and Derrick Adams – whose work will be on display beginning February 10th, 2024; and with special mention to their contemporary Aquarian, Alicia Keys, who celebrated her birthday on January 25th.
The opening live music set included spins by DJ Sweets. Uptempo blends and sounds were also provided by Swizz Beats himself; Swizz Beats’ official DJ, DJ Runna, Soulection DJ and Co-Founder Joe Kay, Blonde filled the corners of the velvet walls. From Kim and Kanye to Chrissy and John, Hollywood’s A-List celeb couples were lit in celebration of the spooky season. By lit, I mean their pumpkins of course. Along with theirs, 1000’s of hand-carved Jack O’Lanterns illuminate the King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas for a family-friendly Halloween experience.
The live music capital of the world, also known as Austin, Texas, never seems to fail us when it comes to throwing amazing parties. This past weekend, ‘Austin Elevates‘ presented by Thomas J. Henry brought incredible performances by G-Eazy, Daddy Yankee, Kygo and 88Glam. This free event benefited local nonprofit organizations such as The SAFE Alliance, Superhero Kids and St. David’s Foundation Community Fund.
It wasn’t just Lady Gaga headlining in the Palm Springs desert this weekend. Noah Cyrus, Miley’s little sister, totally slayed as she performed her megahit “Make Me (Cry)” and “Stay Together” at the Lucky Lounge Desert Jam, courtesy of the iconic Lucky Brand.
Ashlee Simpson, Evan Ross & Jonathan Scott Attend Swiffer and Mr. Clean Event
Design enthusiast and pop personality Ashlee Simpson joined Jonathan Scott of Property Brothers yesterday at an event sponsored by Swiffer and Mr. Clean to discuss home cleaning and other home improvement. Simpson was excited to discuss not only home cleaning, but her current projects.
This is pretty exciting.
Yeah! Yeah, it’s always good to have a clean slate, clean house, especially with our daughter.
So what do you particularly like about the Swiffer brand?
About the Swiffer brand, it makes it easy. Leaving crumbs on the floor and Jagger’s starting to crawl, so it makes life easy. It’s easy to just press the button. house cleaning is important!
Do you work on home improvement a lot?
Well, I mean having two children, I’m like yeah! So I have to clean the house up, kind of organize things, and I feel like now that it’s spring, we just got another fresh start, yes it’s very important. Especially with all the toys everywhere.
How are you liking New York City?
I love New York!
What musicians do you listen to right now?
Ooh, interesting. Well I love Evan’s mom, Mama D (Diana Ross), I love Karen O, Sade.
So you’ve done some theatre?
I love doing theatre, it’s so much fun. I’m not looking to do any right now, but I’d love to do it again.
So what are you working on right now?
I’m doing an album with my husband. We’ve been writing it, discovering it. Soulful, a little rap, it’s been fun.
Jonathan Scott of Property Brothers loved discussing New York, which we all know is a dirty city, and his preferences with cleaning.
So, what’s your home cleaning philosophy?
I’m not a germaphobe. However, when I’m showing a room to someone, I want it to feel crisp and clean. The only reason people don’t keep their home spic and span is because it’s difficult. So if we make it easy, people will actually clean.
So what about your childhood? Because I bet children don’t want to be home cleaners or in real estate-
No, actually, my brother and I were actors. We made hangers when we were seven, because our father wanted us to get a job. It ended up actually being a huge success- this one woman ordered them by the thousands. Imagine, seven year olds, making hanger by the thousands…and then we didn’t want to be struggling actors, so my brother got a real estate license and I went to school for design, and then we just went from there.
What do you like about New York City?
It’s funny you ask, because earlier today we were promoting the event by walking down the city sidewalks with Swiffers, and people were watching us like “is he really cleaning a New York City sidewalk?” Can you imagine what was on the bottom of that thing? It was really funny to see. We’re filming here too, and it’s interesting because you’re in an apartment you can’t escape the filth, you can’t escape the grime…it’s right in front of your face. You really want to make sure you have multifunctional furniture pieces that also function as storage, that you can put away. So one, you can get the clutter away, and then you can clean.
So there you have it. Perhaps by the time you next feel inspired to clean, you’ll have a new album by Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson to listen to!
