On May 14, 2015 Swarovski and The Hollywood Reporter co-hosted a private dinner with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the 68th Festival de Cannes.
The evening featured an exclusive guest list of actors, movie executives, VIPs and industry heavyweights. Swarovski and Janice Min, Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group President and Chief Creative Officer, hosted 75 guests at the Hotel Carlton on Boulevard de la Croisette, on the Mediterranean coast.
The HFPA, which presents the annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony, worked with Janice Min to cap the second night of the Cannes Film Festival, which celebrates and raises the profile of the industry globally, and runs through May 24. Among the dinner guests were many honored by the Golden Globes in January, including Sienna Miller, Michelle Rodriguez, Alicia Vikander, Harvey Weinstein, Jane Seymour, Ellen Von Unwerth, Charlotte Tilbury and many others.
Celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, Swarovski’s history on the silver screen goes back to the early days of Hollywood over 85 years ago. Swarovski crystals have featured in some of Hollywood’s most iconic moments, including Marlene Dietrich in Blonde Venus, Marilyn Monroe singing “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Audrey Hepburn’s tiara in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. In recent years, Swarovski has rekindled its close working relationship with the world of cinema, collaborating with award-winning set and costume designers on films including The Grand Budapest Hotel, Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, Moulin Rouge, Chicago and Dreamgirls.
