Ian Schrager knows how to bring out the stars. Music legends Lenny Kravitz, Chaka Khan and Janelle Monae were among the many Hollywood A-listers who came out to celebrate the opening of the iconic developer’s first West Coast EDITION property. And it is fashionably located on the corner of West Sunset Blvd and North Doheny Drive — where West Hollywood meets Beverly Hills.
Other celebs spotted included Diplo, Marlon Wayans, Dylan McDermott, Samantha Ronson, Evan Ross, Brad Goreski, Quincy Combs, RJ King, and Paul Oakenfold. Upon arrival to this exclusive, invite-only event on Tuesday, the 200 guests were welcomed into the grand lobby (featuring a brilliantly Instagram-worthy bar and Sterling Ruby hanging sculpture) before being treated to a dinner created by head chef John Fraser at the hotel’s landmark restaurant Ardor.
Spearheaded by a chef who is recognized as one of the best vegetable chefs in the world, it comes as no surprise that Ardor is a veritable showcase for veggie-forward, healthy California cuisine. Expect to see your Insta-feed be taken over by his gorgeous pictures of his incredible dishes, as well as selfie after selfie in the luxe restaurant.
And what goes better with dinner besides dessert and wine? Fititingly, a second wave of guests kept the party going at full swing, arriving for cocktails and #citybestviews on The Roof where Sofi Tukker performed.
One of the biggest draws of the night was the chance to enjoy a live performance by a true icon, Chaka Khan, who took the stage at The West Hollywood EDITION’s late-night venue, Sunset. Tracks included her biggest classics like Ain’t Nobody and I‘m Every Woman.
Come see what all the excitement is about for yourself. The West Hollywood EDITION is located at 9040 Doheny Drive and features 140 guest rooms and 48 suites with 2 penthouses, as well as 20 luxury residences.
