Director, Mimi Cave gave the modern dating βmeet cuteβ the ultimate meat cute twist with her new dating thriller film, Fresh.
If youβre single and dating in todayβs dating pool, you might very well be aware of the horrors that come with it. From countless dating apps, to ghosting, to βu upβ texts, but Noa [Daisy Edgar Jones] is about to experience quite possibly the date from hell when she meets the seemingly charming and handsome Steve [Sebastian Stan]. The comedic thriller takes the term βyouβre a snackβ a little too literally as we watch Noa battle to survive her new boyfriendβs unusual appetite.
On Thursday, March 3 the cast, crew, and guests celebrated the release of the film on Hulu with a red-carpet premiere and screening at the Hollywood American Legion Post 43.Β The intimate reception had a delicious array of fruits and vegetables, speciality cheeses, cured meats, dips, spreads and so much more provided by This Messy Table LA as well as numerous hors dβoeuvres in rotation. Guests were able to grab wine and mingle amongst the cast and crew as they waited for the screening to start. βIβm excited to see this all come together. The cast is amazing and has worked so hard so this should be good,β said musical composer Alex Somers. Finally, the time had come for guests to enjoy the film as they were ushered into the main theater. Director, Mimi Cave gave a quick introduction of the cast including Brett Dier, Dayo Okeniyi and Jonica T. Gibbs, additionally she shouted out some of the crew calling them her βnew family.β From the gasps, laughter, and eye closing, itβs safe to say the audience thoroughly enjoyed the film.
