Sonja Morgan from the Real Housewives of New York kickstarted her stand-up comedy tour, “Sonja in Your City” with a sold-out show at the Asylum in NYC on September 9, 2021.

Guests had the opportunity to try some amazing Sonja Sangria’s before being entertained with the opening acts, Mariko Iwasa a comedian and clown, TimeOut’s ‘New York Comic to Watch’ Zach Zimmerman, and a drag performance from queen, Holly Box-Springs who incorporated the voice of the “Late Night” host, Seth Meyers as an introduction to a performance of “Barbie Girl”.

Following the opening acts the evening’s hosts Douglas Widick and Matt Brooks sang an original musical number about queen of the “the Upper East Side” filled with tons of Bravo references, exciting the crowd for Morgan’s big entrance.

Sonja began her act by picking out audience members to interview to be her interns for the night in a hilarious act that led to 2 fans being responsible for her belongings that night. She graced a few fans with dating advice and the opportunity to take new photos with Sonja for their dating profiles. Sonja, Douglas and Matt put together some improv comedy skits utilizing fan interaction that kept the crowd screaming and laughing for more. The evening ended with a contest of audience members trying to drink water with a mask on followed by a large standing ovation.

Following the event superfans of Morgan had the opportunity to purchase “Meet and Greet” tickets for a personal interaction with the RHONY star.

Sonja is taking the show on the road to Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Baltimore – with more cities and dates to be announced.  ‘Sonja In Your City’ is directed by Jeremy Brothers and the show’s musical accompanist is Adrien Pellerin.
