We attended an amazing launch event on Tuesday for the NEW Revlon Illuminance™ Foundation. From brand activations like getting our auras checked to match our skin color to the foundation and of course, a special interview with Katie Jane Hughes!
In conversation with Katie Jane Hughes:
What Makes the Revlon Illuminance™ Foundation so innovative?
It’s skincare (hybrid foundation) It’s a step up from a tinted moisturizer with medium coverage. It’s buildable and very adjustable. It has Hyaluronic acid and Glycerine, making it a gorgeous product.
Can you dish out some ways to elevate a makeup routine?
This foundation is really special because you could wear it in the daytime, due to its sheer qualities, and really blend it through so that it doesn’t have too much coverage. To complete the day look, pair it with mascara and lip balm and you’re ready to go. Then, for nighttime, I’d go back in with that foundation, boost your coverage a little bit, and add a little more detail on the eyes and cheeks – super easy!
What can you tell our readers about your celebrity clients and what do you recommend to them?
I’ve worked with Ashley Graham (the face of Revlon) for 5 – 6 years and my favorite part about our working relationship, other than our friendship is that she just lets me do what I want to do. We always take a vibe off the outfit or the dress, the styling leads always. She is always very very open to trying something new, she likes something fun and she takes really good care of her skin so the foundation is something I don’t need to really work at with her, which is my favorite, but if I did need to, this foundation really helps for that too.
We are all eager to know your tips and tricks on how to look “Red Carpet Ready”
For Red Carpet makeup it’s really important to assess skin prep appropriately. If someone is really really dry I wouldn’t be too stingy with the skincare, I would do enough but not too much either, because too much skincare will slide around the face and too little will make you look dry – having that balance is key. That said, one of my favorite tips for any foundation you try for the first time is – don’t put on any hydrators or serums or skincare underneath it, for the first time you ever try it, because you don’t know what it’s going to do throughout the day. Make sure your skin is cleansed and exfoliated, then go straight in with the foundation when your skin is dry, you’ll get a good gauge of what this foundation is going to naturally wear like. As a result, you know where to put your moisturizer and how much you need, or lack thereof.
It’s time to Illuminate what’s inside with the new Revlon Illuminance™ Foundation. Live Boldly.
