The newly-opened Bibigo To Go pop up at The Concourse at 30 Rockefeller Center ushered in the Lunar New Year with an exclusive Mandu-making masterclass led by Chef Inui Cho.
The celebration featured learning how to hand-roll pork-filled Mandu, discover Lunar New Year traditions, and sampling the popular packaged Bibigo products like Gochujang and Bibimbap.
Bibigo Chef Inui Cho looked on and guided attendees with rolling Mandu dough and gently placing the flavored pork mixture inside before sealing the dumpling, adding a slight crinkle on top for a stylish wave effect. Mandu can either be pan-fried or steamed, and guests were encouraged to cook their newly-crafted creatures home to experience Korean cooking firsthand.
The pop-up space offers both a dine-in experience with communal seating, or packaged to-go features with ready-to-eat meals, sauces, and take-home frozen products.
To further celebrate the Lunar New Year, Bibigo To Go is offering exclusive deals from January 24 to 26, including a dine-in Lunar New Year Luck Box with the famed Mandu, chicken bits, and a coupon for a complimentary order of Mandu for your next visit. The takeout Lunar New Year At Home Package contains frozen bags of Mandu, chicken bites, Japchae, and porridge for only $25, plus a free custom plastic steamer.
This is the first New York location for the West Coast brand, and the pop up runs through February.
