The fashion house for plus sized women has some exciting designs in store for the spring.
This past Tuesday, Torrid, the fashion brand for women who wear a size 10-30, debuted its first NY Fashion Week collection. The show was very bold, moving toward diversity in the fashion industry with a wide array of models in different shapes and sizes.
The collection highlighted the Torrid woman – bold and beautiful looks with a perfect balance between hard and soft. On the runway were hard edge corsets and leather moto jackets paired with flowy, feminine pieces to represent the beautiful and badass concept Torrid was focusing on.
“The collection is about art and expression—and the fusion of those two things. We also explored the idea that apparel should reflect the many sides of a woman—she’s never just one thing. The overall result is a juxtaposition between feminine and hard-edge artistry,” explained Torrid designers Liz Munoz and Kim Sippl.
The runway show served as a showcase for Torrid’s third annual Model Search competition. The top 10 finalists graced the runway and are selected by a panel of judges comprised of influencers and celebrities. You can view some of Torrid’s clothing on their website here.
