Miguel Vieira’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection was very minimal and split into two sections – traditional and relaxed.
All of the pieces in the new collection follow his signature gray, white and black palette. There were some pops of pink and red in the collection. The traditional pieces included men’s suits and dresses. The dresses were leather with a cracked look as the detail and a belt around the waist. All the women wore black, red or silver heels to compliment the dresses. The men wore suits – in wool or cashmere- and dress shoes or sneakers.
The relaxed portion of the show included a wide variety of different pieces including shorts, sweatshirts, and t-shirts. Cotton, lace, and mesh were the dominant fabrics in most of the pieces and some of the models had rose patches and glitter detail sewn onto the clothing. Some of the pieces in the relaxed collection mimicked the cracked detailing that was present in the semi-formal dresses of the traditional collection.
Vieira had models of all different skin tones on his runway and promoted a sense of diversity in the industry. At the end of the show, he came out and walked the S-Shaped runway, interacting with all of the people seated in the front row.
