This weekend North Fork TV Festival honored fan-favorite actor Jeremy Sisto at a lively drive-in at Castello di Borghese Vineyard.
Welcoming remarks were made by numerous associates including: County Executive, Steve Bellone; Town Supervisor, Scott Russell; and Noah and Lauren Doyle. The Canopy Award was presented to Jeremy Sisto by Katherine Oliver.
“I feel really fortunate to be here tonight,” the actor told the crowd as they honked their horns as a symbol of applause. He laughed and thanked the audience as he spoke about his 108 plus acting credits.
“We are truly grateful for Jeremy Sisto’s extraordinary contributions to the entertainment community,” said Founder Noah Doyle. “It is an honor to present him with the Canopy Award and recognize his enthusiasm for the future of independent scripted television.”
The Canopy Award honors a member of the New York television community. The winner’s persistence and integrity, bound by the twin spirits of independence and collaboration, stoke the creative ambitions of diverse people who have important stories to tell. The ceremony will feature a conversation between Mr. Sisto and News12’s Elisa DiStefano with an audience Q&A to follow. Kelsey Grammer was last year’s recipient.
In a career that has moved effortlessly between film, television, and theater, Jeremy Sisto has become an iconic presence in entertainment. Eight years after wrapping an acclaimed three-season role on Law & Order as Detective Cyrus Lupo, Sisto reteamed with prolific creator/producer Dick Wolf on the CBS drama, F.B.I., which is now prepping for its third season. The show follows a group of agents in New York fighting terrorism, organized crime, and counterintelligence to keep America safe.
Also, playing at the event were pilot presentations of Slayed By Divya, Freeze, and SuperUser Do. Each showing was followed by a pre-recorded q and a session with cast and crew. Each pilot was created by diverse artists. Two women (Maya Albanese, Freeze, and Ni Belete, Slayed By Divya) and two Black creators (Ni Belete, Slayed By Divya and Zuff Idries, SuperUser Do) brought enrichment to the festival.
