McKenna Grace Talks Paranormal Activity on the Set of ‘Annabelle Comes Home’

Captain Marvel’s McKenna Grace takes on a new adventure as she gets casted in a key role in the upcoming Annabelle sequel.

Grace will play Judy, the young daughter of the supernatural specialists Lorraine and Ed Warren. Judy plays a core role in the film, as the character becomes the latest target of Annabelle after her parents bring the doll home in the hopes that it will not be able to do any harm locked away in their house. The Knockturnal got to sit and chat with the leading lady on the set of Annabelle Comes Home. Check out below what Grace had to say about the paranormal activity that took place on set!

The Knockturnal: How do you feel joining the Conjuring franchise?

Mckenna Grace: It’s really exciting because I’m a big fan of horror movies and I watch them all the time so I’m really thankful to get to do this!

The Knockturnal: What’s your favorite horror movie?

McKenna Grace: The Shining, my favorite favorite!

The Knockturnal: What can you tell us about your character?

McKenna Grace: She’s very kind. She knows a lot about paranormal stuff because she’s Ed and Lorraine’s daughter [Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga], super exciting!

The Knockturnal: We heard there was a blessing done on set, can you tell us about it?

McKenna Grace: Mr. Father Tom, who was our priest, he was very very kind and nice and he gave me a rosary that was blessed by the Pope Francis and it smells like roses so that was very exciting! He brought Holy Water and he recited this prayer in the artifact room and I was like, goodness gracious and he blessed me, Madison [Iseman] and Katie [Sarife], it was so exciting! I loved it!

The Knockturnal: Did you experience any paranormal activity on set?

McKenna Grace: I was on set and then realized, oh there is blood coming from my nose. As soon as I stepped outside to go to the restroom to get a tissue, it stopped. It was creepy! But then we had a set blessing so I think everything’s good now. Also one day our trailer lights were just out at the end of the day whenever we went back in and none of the other trailer lights were off, it was so weird and they wouldn’t turn on and off. They had to go and reset stuff, and they reset it and they were like, everything’s perfect why isn’t it turning on? It wouldn’t turn on, it took them like fifteen minutes for them to figure it out. It was crazy!

The Knockturnal: Did you have a doll in your life that was creepy?

McKenna Grace: Absolutely! Jenny, that was my mom’s doll from whenever she was a little girl, oh goodness gracious it is frightening! One day I’m going to have to bring it, I will bring it one day. It’s like our own little Annabelle who lives in our garage. It’s so creepy because she [mom] shaved off her hair. Her hair was really short and then she [mom] cut off the bangs so it was all sticking up. It’s a really creepy doll, it lives in the garage now.
