Juneteenth weekend has come and gone filled with a variety of events but one thing is for certain, B-Hen’s Block Party was thee party to be at.
This past weekend celebrities, EJ Johnson, Janelle Monáe, Mj Rodriguez, Kendrick Sampson, Lori Harvey, Justine Skye, Jasmine Sanders, Amber Riley and more joined Brian Henry at B-Hen Block Party presented by DIAGEO in Los Angeles. Over 1,500 people came together to toast to Black creativity, Black excellence, Black love, and Black Pride as they sipped on Smirnoff Ice Neon Lemonade, Crown Royal, and DeLeón Tequila and celebrated the Culture that has shaped the world.

Brian Henry’s unapologetic, ‘Black Joy’ party returned for a second year bringing purpose and pride to one setting. “This Juneteenth, we brought the B-Hen Block Party back home to LA and made it bigger than ever by partnering with DIAGEO to showcase unapologetic Black Joy. Our community is doing so many amazing, beautiful, and positive things — and we’re here to celebrate all of it,” states Brian Henry, founder of the B-Hen Block Party. Henry’s live DJ set and group performance had party goers all the way turned up starting several mini dance parties throughout the crowd. Not only were attendee’s dance moves on display but their outfits were more like statement pieces with attire having messages stating, “Black by popular demand” or “support creative Black Boys.”
Henry’s partnership with DIAGEO labeled ‘Joy of June’ is a series of programming that celebrates the vibrancy of Black joy, identity, and self-expression, while toasting to the creative voices powering change throughout local communities. Los Angeles is not the only city treated to the empowering festivities as they’ll take the party to more cities throughout the Summer including Chicago and New York. Diageo has made a commitment to champion diverse voices and after this past weekend’s event, these voices were heard loud and clear as they sung along to DJ sets including Maad and Earry Hall, flicked it up at the 360 photobooth and hailed praises to the delicious grub offered.
