Fashion & Beauty
Brazilian designer UMA celebrated a new shop on NYC’s Bleecker Street on Thursday, October 15th, 2015.
HSN will start carrying a line of beauty products by WOOSH, which are revolutionary in their easy of use.
This Wednesday, 2(x)ist debuted its Spring Summer Collection at the Skylight Modern in New York. The entire production of the show was a celebration, with it’s launch of women’s along with an accessories collection.
The runway started with linear and modern patterns with geometric shapes in monochrome, a lot of blacks, whites and grays with brights pops of neon. Gradually transitioning from Spring-to-Summer, the silhouettes were full out bright and sun bleached with colorful solids and army greens. Oiled up men walked through the runway barefoot with barely anything on in intimates some made from see through mesh, while the women’s pieces were much less, exciting?, with a basic line of workout clothes that emulated a friendly “girl next door”. But that being said, we all know who 2(x)ist is marketed towards so maybe it’s not that surprising. If you wanted a show glorifying beautiful women maybe wait for the life-sized wings and bejeweled lingerie?
Alongside the intimates was the new collection of active bags, made from nylons and camo canvas to scuba fabric with hot color zippers catering to the active lifestyle.
We also had a chance to talk backstage one on one with Jason Scarlatti, the creative director of 2(x)ist, about the new collection:
“It’s our 25th year anniversary, it’s really just about our evolution as a brand and how we started as an underwear brand and now we’ve grown into a lifestyle brand. It’s about great comfort and fit and being fashion forward. We have more amazing products to offer our consumer and now his counterpart. Going forward we’ll be growing and branching out into new categories, I think for both men’s and women’s it’s about offering fashion, color, and new silhouettes and offering fashion forward pieces that make you go “I have to have that.”
In addition to the beautiful madness of men changing underwear backstage, 2(x)ist also held an after-party upstairs from the show venue where guests enjoyed an open bar and company of the runway models.
Sofia Coppola & Grace Coddington Celebrate Opening of Louis Licari Salon
On Tuesday October 13th, one of today’s most iconic hair carrier/Vogue creative director/author, Grace Coddington, along with actress and filmmaker Sofia Coppola celebrated the grand opening of the Louis Licari Salon located on 693 Fifth Avenue at 54 street. Some of the hair stylist’s frequent clients such as Calvin Klein, Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee Gifford, Jill Martin, Joy Bauer, Katie Couric, and Sandra Lee were in attendance.
[slideshow]The event was catered by STK, which provided guests with delicious mini versions of their most popular plates like their kale salad and tuna tartare. While all of the perfectly hairstyled guests mingled as if it was a house party and they hadn’t seen each other in a while, everyone sampled the signature dishes. The environment was very friendly and welcomed all types of conversations revolving around hair.
After listening to one-too-many women talking about their hair secrets and routines, we decided to approach the two hostesses of the night and learn their top hair tips. Grace Coddignton said that she has been Louis’s client for thirty years, and Sofia has been one since she turned eighteen.
They both follow Louis’s advices on which shampoo, conditioner and other products to use. “It depends entirely on him. I have sort of conditioner stuff but other than that I don’t do any touch ups,” said Grace Coddington.
To achieve the hairstyles of the stars, you can purchase the Louis Licari hair products in his hair salon.
