On Tuesday October 13th, one of today’s most iconic hair carrier/Vogue creative director/author, Grace Coddington, along with actress and filmmaker Sofia Coppola celebrated the grand opening of the Louis Licari Salon located on 693 Fifth Avenue at 54 street. Some of the hair stylist’s frequent clients such as Calvin Klein, Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee Gifford, Jill Martin, Joy Bauer, Katie Couric, and Sandra Lee were in attendance.

While all of the perfectly hairstyled guests mingled as if it was a house party and they hadn’t seen each other in a while, everyone sampled the signature dishes. The environment was very friendly and welcomed all types of conversations revolving around hair.
After listening to one-too-many women talking about their hair secrets and routines, we decided to approach the two hostesses of the night and learn their top hair tips. Grace Coddignton said that she has been Louis’s client for thirty years, and Sofia has been one since she turned eighteen.
They both follow Louis’s advices on which shampoo, conditioner and other products to use. “It depends entirely on him. I have sort of conditioner stuff but other than that I don’t do any touch ups,” said Grace Coddington.
