Fashion content creator Hannah Krohne, known online as Hannah Lizzy, partnered with social impact agency Influencer Social Responsibility (ISR)™, founded by Alexandra Bushman, to host a fashion show celebrating confidence and self-expression for girls from non-profit organization Girls Inc. of NYC in honor of Women’s History Month Wednesday evening.
Hosted at the Indego Africa in Residence gallery in Midtown, the penthouse space overlooking Manhattan was decorated with elegant pink florals, light bites, and complimentary goodie bags as around 20 models prepared to walk the runway.
Ahead of the show, Krohne took the mic to introduce the event and reflect on her own journey with confidence.
“Like many teenagers do, I struggled with my confidence throughout middle and high school,” Krohne said. “It took me years to understand that confidence is so much more than liking the way you look. It’s about liking the way you speak; the way you speak to yourself, the way you speak to others. It’s about believing that you bring value into every single room you walk into.”

At the midway point, one of the models stepped out to address the crowd, reinforcing the show’s message of boldly being yourself.
“A lot of things are happening and changing in this world and the one thing that we must keep is the freedom of expression,” she said in her speech. “What better way to do that than with clothes?”
During the second half of the show, the girls modeled chic business casual looks and comfortable pastel two-piece sets. Each model’s walk was unique, with some slowly strutting down the runway while others joyfully bounced and waved to the crowd.
Unlike a typical fashion show, where audiences are often reserved, the room erupted in applause. Notable attendees were fashion and lifestyle influencers Miranda McKeon, Maddie Schrader and Frances Bailey, who loudly cheered the girls on and treated them like professional models.
For the Girls Inc. participants, the opportunity to walk the runway was more than just a fashion moment — it was a chance to embody the values that the organization cultivates.
“It’s just been a jaw-dropping kind of day,” Girls Inc. Team Leadership Circles program manager Adjua Thomas said. “Our students are incredible role models to their social community, so it’s really exciting to get to see them be pro-models today.”

The event drew an incredible roster of panelists who brought the heat. Mari Pepin, best known to Bachelor Nation from The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, headlined the speaker series alongside content creators Catie Keogh and Jen Adams, Parisa Shifteh (The Bachelor), and the multi-hyphenate Kellie Sbrocchi — content creator, speaker, podcaster, AND event host. Because why just do one thing when you can do it all?

The Icon Edit wasn’t just a one-night affair. It’s part of a growing national tour spearheaded by Modern Day Wife founders Meghan Fialkoff and Meagan Elieff, who also MC’ed the evening. Fresh off a successful event during NYFW at the W Hoboken, the tour is heading to W Miami for Miami Swim Week, el Prado Hotel, Sofitel Beverly Hills, W Dallas, and W Scottsdale.
Each stop on the tour covers the full spectrum of women’s lives — career, relationships, motherhood, beauty, wellness, and fashion — through speaker panels, pop-ups, brand experiences, and of course, fabulous fashion shows.
The founders are clearly fired up about what they’re building: “We’re incredibly excited to bring this event and tour to communities across the country. This has always been about creating meaningful, shared experiences, and being able to offer this on a national level is a powerful moment for us and for the communities that have supported our vision from the beginning.” — Meghan Fialkoff & Meagan Elieff, Founders of Modern Day Wife.

Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park — with its breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and steps away from Millennium Park — proved to be the ultimate backdrop for the event. The hotel’s 63,000 square feet of event space was transformed into an immersive experience designed for seamless flow and maximum glamour.

Exhibitors including Kristine T. Collections, The One Spa Chicago, and CCRM Fertility – Naperville rounded out the evening’s pop-up experience, while partners New Beauty Magazine, Yelp Chicago, and The Knockturnal helped bring it all to life.
If The Icon Edit Chicago is any indication of what’s coming, the next stops on the Modern Day Wife tour are going to be unmissable. Keep your eyes on their upcoming events in Miami, Beverly Hills, Dallas, and Scottsdale — and start planning your outfits now. Because if there’s one thing this night proved, it’s that when women get in a room together to celebrate, inspire, and uplift each other? Magic happens.

The room was a veritable who’s who of people I’ve tapped on Grindr. That’s exactly the energy I hoped for as I walked into the 14th annual Queerties, our community’s vaunted awards show.
I arrived just in time for the open bar to end, and thus soberly took in the introduction of our host, the icon that is Trixie Mattel.
“Is that applause for me or for my gown?” she asked as the crowd went wild.

My favorite jokes of hers tonight – paraphrased:
‘We don’t have One Battle After Another, but we do have one bottom after another.”
“Katya couldn’t be here tonight. And she’s not watching, she doesn’t have Wi-fi.”
“Everyone’s saying this season of Drag Race is the geriatric season. And may the best drag queen – live!”
Downwind of those haymakers, we kicked off our night with Margaret Cho winning the Icon Award for her decorated career and acerbic wit.

Lushious Massacr, who is quickly becoming my favorite drag queen, won best digital series for her show, Dragvestigations. She delivered a fiery speech calling for queer people to be bold and boisterous in public.
“You do not have to conform to fit this society,” she said. “Make some noise if you are bitter!”
