Preview: Brunch In The Park Madrid
The 23rd of September might be the official end of summer, but don’t be bummed because Brunch In The Park Madrid is just getting started!
Ryan Serhant, of Million Dollar Listing fame, took over Samsung’s giant NYC space for a bash celebrating three huge milestones in life.
Ryan Serhant’s rise to fame is nothing short of meteoric. And in the cutthroat world of NYC real estate, that’s saying something, given the number of brokers who spin in idle for years hoping for their big break. But NYC, “big break” is different. Where million-dollar-deals stand as a norm, there’s less work of making a deal, and more of making a friend to seal the sale. It’s a game of run-and-tell and earned loyalty.
It’s showmanship and taste and a little bit of drama. For Serhant, a former actor, these all came naturally and ten years in, he’s got everything in the right balance.
Hosted at Samsung’s expansive, multi-story 837 space in NYC’s Meatpacking District, past and present clients, employees of Serhant’s branch of Nestseekers (an NYC brokerage firm, of which he’s the #1 team, #2 in the nation), and friends along the way stepped out to show their appreciation for Serhant in all of his big energy.
In a video cast on a three-story tall LCD, Serhant is blown up to bigger-than-life proportion, with video of him being sprayed with silly string and hit in the face with cakes, all while dressed in a tailored suit. In a way, the video was a demonstration of what it’s like to be a real estate agent- taking a ton of sh*t- while trying your best to look presentable.
With open bars in all the floors, guests were treated to pour-over Smirnoff cocktails with custom bottles decorated with Serhant’s photos and catch phrase – “Ready. Set. Go.” It is easy to get lost in the world of Ryan. He just wrapped season seven of Million Dollar Listing, he’s got a new book out (his first), Sell It Like Serhant, in which he capitalized on his special recipe for selling, in addition to a show, also called Sell It Like Serhant, in which he offers small business advice to increase sales.
It’s all in the interest of transparency and honesty, and, despite the occasion, how it’s not all about him. His skills are unique, but not exclusive.
We enjoyed VR experiences around the Samsung space as drinks were passed and snacks like avocado toast (seriously) came around. Ryan offered a heartfelt and revealing speech midway through the event- in which he detailed his first ever sale, which happened almost simultaneously with the 2008 financial crisIs. And to think, only in 10 short years.
Congratulations Ryan!
