Fashion Vet Kiki Kitty debuts K.Milele Spring 2016 at pre-NYFW event.
With New York Fashion Week officially just a few days away, fashionista, artist, and brand curator Kianga “Kiki Kitty” Peterson, had her friends and colleagues out in the NYC streets Tuesday evening, kicking off a plethora of pre- NYFW events for a cocktail reception in honor of her K.Milele Spring 2016 presentation – Everlasting Sun. Event goers were engrossed by everything Kiki as displays of her artwork in addition to her beautiful-flowy pieces, and stylist presentation were meticulously staged throughout the event space. Power actress Naturi Naughton and some other notable faces were in the building taking in the resort style collection of dresses and jumpers made perfectly for that luxurious yacht- type of lifestyle.
The 20+ year fashion-industry veteran teared up when explaining the motivation behind her decision to construct her own line this time around as opposed to launching collections for so many other major brands that we know and love today, “You could say this is a passion, and I’m just happy to be able to show it. I love being able to take someone else’s aesthetic and see what I can do with it; even doper to do it for myself.” In retrospect, brands like Sean John, Justin Timberlake’s – William Rast, Rocawear, Arizona Jeans, Fubu, House of Dereon, and the Nikki Minaj collection – just to name a few, won’t go down in history for getting the best of K.Milele, as she continues to pull more style and flavor out of her bag.
