India-based clothing brand KGL showcases its new spring/summer 2024 collection, challenging the line between the tangible and intangible.
The line featured a variety of contrasting patterns and shapes. The best way to describe the looks would be a dreamscape, which plays perfectly into the “familiar mingles with mystical” aesthetic KGL was aiming for. The line featured 31 looks ranging from denim fabrics, silks, and playful button-downs.
The brand first came to fruition in December 2014 when Kanika Goyal dared to venture on her own fashion journey after working for famed brands such as Prada, Adidas, and Marchesa. After putting in the work at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, India, and Parsons The New School for Design, alum Goyal decided to make her mark in the fashion industry. Since the start of the brand, KGL has gotten to dress many well-known celebrities like MIA, Huda Kattan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Lilly Singh, DJ Snake, and Manuel Turizo, to name a few.
With spring and summer weather in mind, the models made their way down the runway draped in loose-fitted, breathable attire. The color palette, staying true to her vision, brings a luminous air to the clothing as she jumps from the classic powdery pastel colors to emulate the light, airy nostalgia of spring to darker hues reminiscent of the mysterious seduction the summer air carries.
