On The Scene: JBL Poolside Casino Event

On the eve of the NBA Draft, JBL brought together tastemakers and music influencers for their New York Poolside Casino event held at Life Time Athletic Sky.

The evening was hosted by Model Shanina Shaik and featured tunes spun by DJs Jus-Ske and Wonder. It was truly a celebration of the intersection of sports, music, and pop culture.  The black and orange carpet was rolled out as guests were greeted with glasses of Veuve Clicquot and given a tour of the JBL Bus. After scoping out the bus where NBA legend and TNT analyst Kenny Smith had his All Star pre-party, guests were taken to a listening room at the back of the bus to immerse themselves in the JBL audio experience.  Treated to the latest from Kendrick Lamar, JBL ensures that the experience sounds like a live performance and I can attest that it did in fact feel like Kendrick was in the room with us. On the pool deck of Life Time Athletic, 11 floors up is where the action took place.  Equipped with 2 pools, multiple bars featuring Avion tequila cocktails and Heinekens, a DJ booth, VIP seating, and casino tables, guests were instantly transported to the Las Vegas pool party scene.  In true pool party spirit, there were guests wildly overdressed for the evening and there were others who quite literally came to take a few laps, if only for the photo ops.  The casino tables were where the real action of the night took place.  As guests entered the roof, they were greeted with bags of casino chips that could be used at the Blackjack, Craps, or Roulette tables.  Although everyone was playing with “house money”, the battles got heated as the top money winners would be entered into a drawing to win exclusive JBL products such as headphones and bluetooth speakers.  As the sun set on New York, DJ Wonder paid hommage to the late Prodigy, spinning some throw back tunes as more partygoers felt brave enough to take a swim.  JBL continues to put together fantastic events that connect consumers to their brand and products in a fun and engaging way. The New York event was part of the Poolside Event series that includes stops in Miami and Los Angeles and culminates at JBL Fest taking place July 27th-29th where attendees will get a private concert from NBA Star Dame Lillard, DNCE, and Demi Lovato.
